    NY - Jeremiah Huger, 4, Bronx, 25 June 1985

This case is so sad its like jeremiah just vanished into thin air.I remember it from the news papers here when i was a kid.His case is so cold.Hopefully his family can get some closure one day. Here is his doe network page....http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/175dmny.html

    sorry you feel that way

I am sorry you feel that way.I read almost all post on here but do not respond to most of them.I feel that all the missing persons cases are special and deserve attention. The only thing I can say is that I hope this boy was taken because someone wanted a child. That does not make it right but I would hope that he was taken care of and loved. He may not remember that he had another family if this is the case being so young. He may be out there and not realize he had a family that has been looking for him all these years.Just because I don't post on all persons does not mean I don't care. Most of the time I just don't know what to say or think.

    Lightbulb More webpages

    http://criminaljustice.state.ny.us/m.../info/1633.htm

    http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/mi...iah_huger.html

    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/..._jeremiah.html

The last one has a bit more information on the case. It says that Jeremiah's mother thinks that an ex-lover may have taken him.

I really don't understand why this case wasn't solved quickly. Apparently there were multiple witnesses -- children, yes, but those are witnesses. And the abductor knew Jeremiah's name, indicating perhaps he knew the child. And Mom has a suspect in mind. But there's nothing, everything seems to have hit a brick wall.

Yeah i think it was so weird it just faded away.nypd never released much info after he went missing.Plus around that time a few other kids went missing around the city.ive been doing research trying to see if any of those cases connect.as with this case there isnt much info on the other missing kids.Hopefully some day some of the families can get some semblance of closure

What other kids? I will look on Doe Network and Charley's Project to see if there are other cases related to this one. None of the unidentified victims from NY or NJ on Doe Network match with Jeremiah.

The APs are blurry because the image is of poor quality. You can see the same problem on my site too, and others. The clearest images are generally at the NCMEC website itself. I swear that repeatedly copying a digital image reduces its quality, same as copying a paper image does. I have observed as much in my own web work.

Of course, sometimes the NCMEC pictures are just cruddy to begin with.

"believe he may have been sold after his abduction, but Huger's mother believes he was abducted by an unidentified abusive, jealous former lover of hers who had previously threatened to abduct the child."

I wonder if the mother has any ideas on where the man would have went/could be residing today (if he is alive)? I also wonder if she has a picture of the man and if so, if they showed it to the other children at the time to ask them if he was the man who took Jeremiah.

Since the police seem to have discounted the mother's theory, perhaps they showed the gentleman's picture to the children and the children couldn't identify him.

Ive done alot of looking for more info on jeremiah,s case and cant find much info at all.I guess all i can do now is just keep an eye out.id welcome any ideas you guys have. One of the reasons im interested in this case is because. When i was like 7 0r 8 i was with my mom at a newstand somewhere on 2nd avenue.and while i was waiting for her outside. This guy showed me a handfull of quarters and before i knew it he grabbed me.My mom heard me yell nad she ran out and the guy dropped me ,ran in a car and got away.i cant remeber all of it but my mom was beyond upset. To this day she gets emotional when she talks about it.I can only imagine how horriable parents of missing kids feel.I think one of the most hardest things to deal with is not knowing if youre loved one is alive or dead.I pray every night for each and every family that has a missing loved one out there

Picture of Jeremiah and a nice clear age progression in link above.

Abstract of an article published on Oct 16, 1985

    http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/newsday/...e&pqatl=google

    snip:

... Jeremiah Huger Reported missing from a Bronx playground on June 25. Jeremiah was 4 years old, 3 feet, 6 inches tall, weighed 45 pounds and had long, brown, curly hair when he disappeared. He has a 1 V -inch scar on his left forearm and a bowed left leg
That's the first time I have seen the part I bolded.
