Boy found in judge's basement 6 months ago has again gone missing

Olson said because of the last outcome, people who live in the area are asked to remain vigilant and watch for open doors, check vehicles and make note, for example, of food wrappers or evidence of occupation in garages and other out buildings.

Jace is described as white with brown hair and eyes. He is about 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 55 pounds. He is wearing unknown clothing and "very used" Reebock brand red sneakers.
He is believed to be in the area of E. Moore Road between Half Moon Lake Road and N. Hillsdale Road.

Boy missing for second time returned to mom's care two months ago

HILLSDALE, MI - A 9-year-old boy, missing for the second time this year, spent four months in foster care, because his mother did not adequately supervise and harshly penalized him.

He was allowed to return to the woman two months ago, at his request and by the agreement of all parties, court documents show.
The only truth in a January petition to remove Jace from his mother's care was her decision to routinely leave him home alone while she was at work, according to a court document filed by the woman's lawyer, Sean Carroll, on March 16.

Boy found in judge's basement 6 months ago has again gone missing
    ..
His mother reported him missing, the sergeant said and called Jace a "voluntary runaway."
    ..
Jace disappeared Jan. 18 from his home on E. Moore Road off Hillsdale Road in Fayette Township, north of Hillsdale.
    ..
Two days later, Michelle Bianchi, the Hillsdale County probate judge, found him hiding in the basement of her home on N. Hillsdale Road. Bianchi's house is less than a mile by road from Jace's home and a shorter distance by field. He was crouched in a dark space with a desk beneath the stairs.
    ..
Court documents in January indicated*Jace fled his home because he was afraid of his mother, who was said to*leave him alone for hours, sometimes overnight, while she was working.
"I didn't want to be in my house anymore," he said, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
A judge soon after granted a request to remove him from his mother's care. She was given supervised parenting time.
It is unclear how the court action has since unfolded; a bench trial did not take place as once scheduled in February. Often provided with services, compliant parents taken through proceedings concerning suspected child abuse or neglect can be reunited with children.

Imo I hope this is not yet another case of a child slipping through the cracks of the system, although that sure is what it looks like

The boy went missing from his adoptive mother’s custody back in January, too, and despite Child Protective Services reporting allegations of abuse and neglect, he was returned to the same residence from which he fled. Let’s hope he’s found ‘safe’ – and a safe place is found for him to live.

#Missing: Police believe 9-year-old Jace Lyon is still in the Hillsdale area.

Troopers are going door to door in an attempt to find the young boy.
    ..
“We’ve got a canine out in the area trying to get a track on him,” said Stoner. “There’s no indication that he’s left in a vehicle or with anybody else at all — it’s believed that he’s on foot.”
    ..
Jace Lyon is white, with brown hair and brown eyes, he’s 4-foot-6 and weighs about 55 lbs. It’s not known what he was wearing when he went missing.

Yes. I originally posted this to his old thread. I seems that thread was deleted and my posts got moved into a new thread.

    MISSING CHILD UPDATE (FILE PHOTO)

A Michigan State Police helicopter has been brought in to assist with the search from the air. As of this point in time, the police are not asking for the public's assistance in a community wide search. Residents around the area of the Lyon home (Moore Road in Fayette Township) should check their homes, outbuildings and property thoroughly for any sign of Jace.

Also worth noting, some interesting comments.

To be 9 yrs old out on the streets alone! How sad! I hope he is safe and they rethink this whole mess they have him in!
