Passengers said that the couple involved was traveling with a large group that included their children. The couple was celebrating an anniversary.

One passenger said: "One of the little girls from that room came running out, calling for help, that her parents had been in a fight. She sounded pretty desperate, but the crew came up as quickly as they could,"

The ship departed Seattle on Sunday for a seven-day round-trip cruise. It had left Ketchikan, Alaska, on Tuesday around 3 p.m. The death forced the crew to divert the ship to Juneau, where it arrived just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday – about six and a half hours ahead of schedule.

The FBI said it will hold a press conference to announce charges in Anchorage on Thursday.

Sounds like it was the husband, but idk, it seems strange to kill your wife in front of your three teenage daughters, while stuck at sea on a cruise ship full of witnesses and nowhere to go. Has anyone reported the COD?

I haven't read anything, but when watching the news report, gun shot was mentioned
    But I am not certain
How would you get a gun on board a cruise ship? Is that possible?

    bbm.
You go through a metal detector every time you get on the ship and your luggage goes through a metal detector when it's loaded, so a gun is highly, highly unlikely. What seems more likely to me is that the murderer used something that was already in the room.

Very, very sorry for the child/children involved (and some of the other passengers who, according to reports this morning, heard and saw some pretty ugly things). Domestic violence is a terrible thing that can happen anywhere - including a cruise ship.

Press conference is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. local time.

Looking at the local time for anchorage it appears to be 1 hour behind pacific, or 4 hours behind eastern.

"Witnesses and a security officer told the news station they spotted blood on Kenneth's hands as he was taken to an adjoining room in handcuffs. Passengers reportedly heard him say, "She would not stop laughing at me."

    No gunshot was mentioned.

The article states that she had "a severe head wound and blood was spread throughout the room on multiple surfaces."

Security officers noticed blood on the hands and clothing of Kenneth Manzanares.

Kenneth Manzanares told witnesses he killed her because his wife “would not stop laughing at (him).”

Kristy Manzanares, 39, was found dead in the cabin at 9:20 p.m. She had a severe head wound and blood was all over the room.

When a security officer came into the room he noticed blood on the hands and clothing of Kenneth Manzanares, the victim's husband.

A witness saw Manzanares grab Kristy Manzanares’ body and drag her toward the balcony of the cabin where the couple was staying. The witness took hold of Kristy Manzanares' body by the ankles to prevent her from being thrown overboard.

Later, as the FBI searched the husband for any physical evidence he spontaneously said, “my life is over.”

Yeah. Who would've thought that angrily smashing a much smaller person in the head would kill them, right?
