SNIP

A human head was discovered off Jupiter Island by two teenagers who were fishing, authorities said.

Michael Puscani and Rocke Greco, both 17, spotted the head about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

"We didn't know if it was real or not, so we came around again and we were like, 'That's a human head,'" Puscani said. "I was just in shock, and it's a story that's kind of hard for people to believe."

It was so deteriorated that authorities were not able to determine its sex or race, only that it belonged to an adult, Miller said.

It is being treated as a homicide investigation.

Any ideas on who this could be?

I wonder if it is possible that a body part such as that could float from the island of aruba, where natalee holloway went missing? or is the current not in the correct direction? for that to happen. another good reason this country needs the dna data base!!

I hope they get an ID on this,it must have been terrible for the 2 boys that found it.:(

I'm with ya Dannyodie on the dna database.
I'm wondering wasn't there recently someone else who "fell" from a cruiseship? How horrifying for those teenagers.

there's just NO good news that EVER comes out of florida, is there.......???

Law enforcement officials are still trying to piece together information concerning the severed head that was found floating in the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday afternoon, six miles east of Jupiter Inlet.

The autopsy report only shows that the deteriorated head appears to be from a black male, approximately 20-39 years old, who had past dental work done. There was no trauma to the skull, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, and no idea how the head was detached from the body. Medical examiners from both Palm Beach and Broward counties are also investigating whether a severed foot found in Deerfield Beach on Dec. 30 could be linked to this severed head, but DNA results are not yet available.

When you first posted this story, I thought that the victim was probably an illegal immigrant from Cuba or Haiti. Now that the information has been released about past dental work I don't think that is the case:confused:
