Sondra Renee, 2, who was last seen in the 21000 block of Karl Street in the City of Detroit. The little girl is believed to be with Grady Barrett, 42. Barrett is a black male, bald, about 6 foot and weighs around 278 lbs. He was last seen driving a GMC Black Pick -up Truck with the license plate DAS8417. There is a trailer hitched to the pick up with a G&G Landscaping decal on the side.

Police are warning that they believe Barrett is armed with a weapon.

Can anyone figure out where the little girl is in the photo included with media coverage? :confused:
 
Michigan State Police say he was first spotted on I-275 at I-94; he got off on Southfield northbound, exited at Michigan Ave. and headed east. Police say he tried to hit a police car while on Michigan Ave.

A male and female were spotted in the truck, but police said there did not appear to be a child in the vehicle.

The two escaped in a black 2009 GMC Sierra pick-up truck, Michigan license plate”DAS-8417,” with an attached trailer, Michigan license plate “D47 6667″ with a G&G Landscaping sign — police said that the suspect has since ditched the trailer.

DETROIT (WJBK) - The suspect wanted in an AMBER Alert issued Tuesday morning has been taken into custody in northwest Detroit. The 2-year-old girl who was missing has also been found safe.

ETA: Thank goodness the incident started and ended very quickly. I'm so relieved little SR was returned home safely without further harm.
 
Thank goodness no one was hurt during the pit maneuver. These high speed chases rarely end without someone being injured. Looks like some vehicles were damaged. Glad the little one is safe and will soon be reunited with her mother.

DETROIT - The suspect at the center of the kidnapping of a child, prompting an Amber Alert and police chase, is a probation absconder.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, Grady Lamar Barrett, 42, skipped out on probation in November of 2012 in Wayne County.

Barrette went to prison in 1995 for assault and battery, carrying a concealed weapon, and attempting to receive stolen property...
