The Columbia Police Department continued to search Monday for two local 16-year-old boys who went missing last week.
Allen Jose Rodriguez was last seen at approximately 8:30 a.m. Aug. 22 near Betsy Terrace Drive. He has not returned home, according to a statement from the police department.
A Hispanic male, Rodriguez stands at 5-foot-7-inches and weighs 145 pounds.
He was last wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
Rodriguez has dark shoulder length braided hair and brown eyes, police said.
Kevontis Carlos Williams has been missing since Aug. 24, when he was given permission by his parents to go to a store at approximately 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of East 11th Street and Woodland Street, according to the police department.
He is African-American, standing 6-foot tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
Joshua Davis of the Columbia Police Department said both boys are likely still in the area. He said the department is working hard to try to locate the two and return them into the care of their parents.
Their parents are concerned and want to see them, Davis said. Both have a reputation for being independent but that does not change the importance of them coming home. They are kids. They are children.
