A 54-year-old woman known for opening her home to the needy was found slain Tuesday night in her Harlem apartment, police said.
Barbara Simpkins was found dead in the bedroom of the 138th Street apartment, naked and tied up with rags, according to a report in Wednesday's New York Post.
