You poor thing! Please stay hydrated. I'll keep my eye out if there are any resources in your area. I know that power companies from all over the US are stationed around Florida, they just need to get the streets cleared. Are they doing that in your area?

    EDIT: Just found this:

Please still shelter in place. We have NOT given the all clear yet.

Sarasota County Emergency Management Chief Ed McCrane: "We still have not issued an all-clear, as of 6 p.m. We are still assessing damage."

The TV network coverage was so bad I couldn't even watch it. The reporters are worthless. My favorite coverage came from these two guys. I loved seeing how well prepared they were,

Because I love a good animal story:

Neighbors in Marco Island, Florida rushed to rescue this dolphin after it washed ashore during Hurricane Irma.

I wish we had thought to add batteries and a couple battery-operated fans to the list of things to gather pre-storm. (I keep a couple for when I take the dogs in the car and have to leave them while I get gas or stop at a store, etc). Bottled water is safest for now.... hope you survive the heat. I do wish I could offer up some suggestions or help .... can you come up to MI?

I didn't watch any TV network coverage at all for the same reason. When there is a big news event I come here for the broadest and most in depth information from the members on the scene and/or posting links. I didn't watch much live streaming either...just enough to see how bad it was/is.

Just saw they made another video after that one (15 minutes ago): https://www.facebook.com/29105829469...type=3&theater

They picked up some friends. The road out is closed. They've been in contact with GMA, CNN, etc about doing interviews. So don't think this will be the last we hear of these guys. They are looking for a place to stay for a few days. All hotels are full or closed.

He is in Florida City (just outside the entrance to the Keys). He was escorted out of the Keys and said along the ride he saw Big Pine Key and Marathon and they are basically destroyed and he's hoping whoever stayed survived.

Many many boats are either washed up, unaccountable, sunken or smashed to pieces

The Andromeda and the Harley motorcycle that strapped he strapped to it survived,

Record Flooding In Jacksonville and Charleston today:

The City of Jacksonville tweeted that the flooding “is an incident of historic proportions. The St. Johns River has not seen these flooding levels since 1846.”

Meanwhile, Charleston’s downtown streets were experiencing “incredible flooding,” according to the NWS.

The surge in Charleston came from the Atlantic Ocean, and forecasters predicted that the water would push about a mile inland.

The Post and Courier*reported that at least 100 roads in the Charleston area were shut down due to storm surge flooding, and reported that by 10:30 a.m., NOAA's tidal gauge in the area was at 7.5 feet.*

Sounds terrible! Going to be hard to get much sleep either. Hate this for you.

Not sure if this will help but it sounds very favorable for pinellas county.

    http://www.tampabay.com/news/weather...access/2337067

Irma's path through central Florida has brought howling winds, toppled trees and ripped down power lines to Pinellas County overnight. The sheriff's office initially restricted access into the county due to continuing hazardous conditions. The county's roads re-opened at 9:30 a.m., but the barrier islands remain closed until 4 p.m. Travel restrictions did not apply to those driving inside county lines.
