FL - Indian River Co., Bones near Wabasso bridge, Jan'06 - Not human
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Bones found two weeks ago near the Wabasso Causeway Bridge were sent to Florida State University to determine if they are human or animal remains.
However, officials would not speculate if they could be linked to other body parts that have recently washed up along and near the Treasure Coast. "We don't even know if they are, in fact, human body parts," said Deputy Jeff Luther, Indian River County Sheriff's Office spokesman. "We have to first wait until the tests are done to determine what we will do."
A Sebastian woman found two large bones submerged about 6 inches in the water Dec. 28 while walking along the Indian River Lagoon shoreline near the bridge, according to a Sheriff's Office report. After inspecting them, she believed they could be human remains and contacted authorities.
One of the bones was described as being about 9 inches long and the other "appeared to be some type of pelvic or shoulder type of bone," the report stated.
The test results were not complete as of Thursday, Luther said.
Fort Pierce Police officials confirmed a human foot washed up in a boot Wednesday night near Jetty Park. No other information was available Thursday morning.
A human head was found floating in the ocean Jan. 5 in Jupiter. A week prior to that incident, a man's right foot was found in Deerfield Beach floating in the water. Officials do not know if any of the incidents are related.

FORT PIERCE</B> — A fisherman found a decomposed foot inside a brown boot while fishing at Jetty Park on Wednesday night — a week after a human head was found floating in the ocean near Jupiter Island.
"We haven't determined if the parts are from the same body," said Fort Pierce Police Department spokeswoman Audria Moore. http://www.tcpalm.com/tcp/local_news...384304,00.html

How many miles are each of those from each other? I'm not good with my Florida geography. Are they kind of close in proximity?
This is odd.Rest in Peace to my best buddy and baby, Buster ~ He crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Jan. 3, 2011. I miss you, Buster and love you with all my being.

If I recall correctly, the head was a black male between 20 to 30. It will be interesting to know about the other parts.

From March 2006:
The Treasure Coast Medical Examiner's Office last week concluded that a 9-inch-long bone that resembled a femur and another bone that appeared to be part of a shoulder recovered near the Wabasso bridge are from an animal, said sheriff's Detective Todd Finnegan, the lead investigator in both cases.
A Sebastian resident found them Dec. 28 sticking out of the water while she was looking for dolphins and seashells with her granddaughter, according to the report.
