I know most people on this site are based in the US but you never know who can help!
On the third anniversary of her disappearance, police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Gorbals woman Agnes Mechan.
Sixty-six year old Agnes, known to her family and friends as Nessa, was reported missing from her home on Govanhill Street, Govanhill, Glasgow by her husband on 30 August 2002.
Despite repeated appeals through the media and ongoing efforts to trace Agnes, who worked as a cash collector, police have been unable to trace her.
In June 2005, two local residents believe they saw her in the Gorbals area, near to the Brazen Head Pub. However, since then, there have been no new sightings.
Agnes is described as being 56" in height, of medium build with shoulder length blonde /grey hair. At the time of the sighting, she was wearing a beige coloured coat.
Inspector Jim Haddow, Gorbals Police Office, said:
"Nessa has been missing for nearly three years now, and her family are desperate for her to get in touch, even if it is just to say she is fine and everything is okay.
"It is extremely upsetting and distressing for her family and the sightings in June brought them fresh hope. Unfortunately there has been no news since.
"We would once again appeal to Nessa to get in touch with the police. This can be done in confidence if she so desires, just to reassure us that she is safe and well. Her present whereabouts will not be divulged to any other person unless she expressly wishes it to be".
"Anyone who may know her whereabouts is also asked to get contact Gorbals Police Office on 0141 532 5300."
