Police were reporting that a dead woman had been found on Antoine-Séguin Blvd. in St-Eustache, and her death is linked to the case. Fredette’s Facebook page said he was in a relationship with Véronique Barbe. Her page shows pictures of her with four children, including L, and with Fredette. Fredette’s Facebook page also indicates he was a filmmaker, collaborating on films that had unsolved crimes or kidnapping as their theme. He had been working on a film about Cédrika Provencher, a 9-year-old girl who disappeared from Trois-Rivières in 2007. Her remains were discovered in 2015.

The grandfather of Cedrika Provencher a girl who went missing in 2007, Henri Provencher, has put out a public call for Ugo to return L to police, in a heartfelt message on Facebook.

“Message to Ugo, knowing you, I appeal to your father’s heart,” the post reads, “do not commit the irreparable, return your child to the police without further delay.”

Mr. Provencher has come forward very quickly. I so hope Ugo receives his message and heeds it. What a sad and very strange case.
 
Where are the other children? Is UF the father of only L?

LE are reporting that the two were seen at a Walmart in St Eustache around 7pm.

I'm thinking that his girlfriend, Veronika Barbe, is L's mother and is the woman who was found deceased. Not sure if he is the father of any of her other children though.

They don't look like the same boy at all... strange.
 
Although Ls father Ugo F has been named a suspect in the kidnapping of Louka, he has not been named a suspect in the death of Véronique Barbe. We don’t know how she died (homicide,suicide, natural causes), so in fairness, UF may have arrived at VB’s residence and she was already deceased and he took off with Louka to remove his son from an awful situation, or out of fear and confusion.

While the two matters are linked, let’s hold off on casting aspersions against UF as it relates to the death of VB and wait until more facts come out.

Yes, I find the pics hard to reconcile. The Walmart pic does look more like the Amber Alert pic, but neither of them seem to line up with the LaPresse pic of what appears to be an older L.
