FL - Vaughan Heppe, 25, Fort Walton Beach, 2 Oct 2017

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 25-year-old Vaughan Heppe, who is believed to be missing and endangered.

Vaughan, a Hood River, Oregon native, was last seen at 7 a.m. Monday at the Hilton Garden Inn on Miracle Strip Parkway, according to the OCSO.

Vaughan and his father, Stephen Heppe, both flew into the area on September 30.

The father said he left for a seminar at Eglin Air Force Base in the early morning Monday and, when he came back that afternoon, Vaughan was not there.

Vaughan’s cell phone, clothes and passport were still in the room, OCSO spokeswoman Michele Nicholson said.

The 25-year-old is described as a white male, 5-foot 6-inches, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

I did wonder why he had his passport? Did they have further plans of travel?

I was curious about the passport too. I had to re-read where they were from.

From searching his name, he was in a band, based on the west coast that toured at least to the east coast of the US. He likely had a passport on him as a habit, in case he was booked to play overseas or across borders.

His social media is 100% about his music and as the wife of a musician I completely understand that, I just wish there was more of a picture of him as a person.

Wow! Good sleuthing on "both" posts above!!

ETA His phone in the room is not a good sign unless perhaps it was charging?

"According to investigators, early indicators do not point to foul play in Heppe’s death.

The case remains under investigation, and an autopsy will be performed on the body by the 1st Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office."

I did a little research and found that he hasn't been with the band since about 2012. He did show up on a 2009 World snowboard tour, but appears not much of any activity on the web since 2012.

    Vaughan-

Vaughan Heppe’s compassion, musical skills and fearless nature will long be remembered, according to family and friends.

“He was always full of life and optimism and showed amazing care and compassion for others. He had an impact on a lot of peoples’ lives,” said a friend, Steve Grace of Hood River.
