A MASSIVE search is underway for a Melbourne woman who went for a late-night run with her dog near the Great Ocean Road after the AFL grand final and hasn’t been seen since.

Police are searching for 42-year-old Elisa Curry, who they believe went for a run with her black labrador at 10.30pm on Saturday night in Aireys Inlet, on the coast south of Geelong.

Police today revealed the Surrey Hills mother of three was in contact with her family, who had been to the AFL grand final, about 10.30pm on Saturday.
But when her husband returned to the house on Sunday morning, she could not be found.

42-year-old Elisa Curry has gone missing after heading out for a late night run.

She was last seen at a home on Aireys Street, south-west of Melbourne, at around 10.30pm on Saturday, police said.

Investigators believe Ms Curry may have gone for a run with her black Labrador and become disorientated.

I had a look at google earth and the running tracks are defined and set well enough away from the cliffs. A seasoned runner wouldn't "accidentally fall down the cliff" from these tracks. Even drunk. IMO

The longer this goes without locating Elisa then the more likely that foul play is involved IMO.

[h=1]Personal problems investigated as search for Elisa Curry continues[/h]
Potential marital or financial problems are being explored as police try to understand Elisa Curry's state of mind in the hours before the Melbourne mother of three disappeared from her family's holiday home nearly a week ago.
"We haven't got a crime," Inspector Seel said, although he added that everything was "still on the table".

Inspector Seel said any problems Ms Curry was facing in the time before she disappeared were being investigated, but declined to elaborate further.
Inspector Seel described the search of Aireys Inlet, now in its sixth day, as a massive operation and moved to reassure the small seaside community on the Great Ocean Road that there was no indication of foul play.
[h=3]Timeline[/h] Saturday 2.30pm: Elisa Curry watches the AFL grand final with a friend, who leaves some time after the match finishes.

Saturday after 5.30pm: Ms Curry texts her husband David, who was at the grand final with their three children, about the result of the game. Two neighbours – a husband and wife – visit Ms Curry on Saturday night. The couple leaves, but the wife returns later.

Saturday 10pm: The female neighbour returns to Ms Curry's home and discusses a 'personal' matter with her. The neighbour leaves after seeing Ms Curry get into bed.
Saturday 10.30pm: Ms Curry's phone is switched off. It is the last time her phone pings a nearby mobile tower.
Sunday 9am: David Curry and the couple's three children return to the holiday home to find Ms Curry missing.
Tuesday 2pm: Mr Curry pleads for information on his missing wife: "Elisa, if you're out there, can you please contact us," he says.

(I'm still at the other thread... that's closed now, so posting this here :) )

So it says the husband and the kids returned on Sunday.

It also appears that the last contact with the husband was at 5.30pm not 10.30pm.

Assuming it's correct....

I know... it's getting worse. And even that was only a text! Don't they ever speak to each other? I'm still surprised she didn't want to say goodnight to her kids. Well.. of course it's seeming as though she was unable to say goodnight to her kids.
Didn't husband find that odd? Wonder how many times he tried to contact her, after he received no response.
I guess he just assumed she zonked-out early, after the festivities, but...

Articles are mentioning no foul play often. I get a left voluntarily vibe from that. Needed to get away or suicidal. All moo of course.

I'm not familiar with Airey's part of the GOR coastal tracks but have walked and run them just a few kms further north, from Point Roadknight to Torquay, many a time. Any place where you are dangerously close to a cliff edge is fenced. This coastline is Victoria's prime international tourist attraction, the infrastructure is great and I think the chance of an accidental fall is slim.

a fall from a cliff at high tide, the body would be carried out to sea and may never be found, especially if there are sharks

Police saying "we haven't got a crime" and then putting a link for lifeline? [emoji848]

I agree....I'm off to google how many people have fallen accidentally in that area

Did he try to contact her? I haven't read that anywhere, except for the 5.30pm text/s.

I don't think it's so unusual just to text, it's my preferred method when i'm away. I'm also a mother & at times I haven't called to say goodnight (ouch!) - usually its when I'm socialising, like she was... Just MOO

I think the husband has an alibi. I understand that he is statistically the most likely to have committed the crime, if one exists. But I can't get past the fact that he was ~2 hours away with the children.

The neighbor makes me the most uncertain at this point. The story of the night seems to have changed several times, and I truly cannot imagine why the meeting over "personal issues" would have been deemed unimportant to tell LE.

I hear you, it's hypocritical? I think sometimes it is treading a fine line when suggesting reasons for a victim's behaviour without sounding offensive, even though no one said it applied to Elisa, it was one of many reasons for mental health issues or alcoholism in women. If Elisa is found alive, she would be pretty offended being publicly labeled an alcoholic, imo.

Maybe a suicide letter was found at the house and they are not disclosing that.

Would account for only bothering with 1 photo and the swifty searching I guess.

If reports are correct and she suffers from depression, could she have been on anti-depressants, and is she likely to be able to overdose on them? Could she have decided in the night/morning to overdose then wander off into the bush somewhere?
Apologies for the thought....

I reckon she would have been found by now unless she jumped....

ETA: One would think that they would bring cadaver dogs in.
