He was last seen in his white pick up truck but according to his family, police told them the truck was found in a ditch in Lubbock. Duffee was nowhere to be found near the truck.

So far in the investigation, police checked all area hospitals and jails for Duffee with no luck. His family said that Jacob not checking in with his family is unlike him.

-His sister posted on FB they had helicopters out searching the area where the truck was found today.

Jacon is still missing, additional info-

A Levelland man who was reportedly last seen on Sept. 29 is now considered to be in danger after his pickup truck was found unoccupied in Lubbock County.

*“At this time,” she said, “he’s still a missing person and, of course, any missing person can be in danger.”

McDonald said Duffee’s banking information show he made several transactions on Sept. 29, and on that evening, his Ford F-250 was discovered by a Lubbock County Sheriff’s deputy near CR 7570 and University Avenue.

The truck, with Texas registration GNT7281 and the words “Landscape Tech” in green print written across the doors, was found unsecured with its headlights on, stuck in a ditch.

According to McDonald, it appeared the driver tried to remove the vehicle from the ditch, eventually abandoning it.

With no credit card, cell phone or social media activity since his disappearance, she said the family is growing increasingly worried.

Quick to respond to messages and phone calls from his family, no one has heard back from Duffee and a family member grew suspicious when he failed to appear at a scheduled landscaping project.

Duffee’s family is offering a cash reward of $2,500 for his safe return or information leading to his whereabouts, said McDonald

Are they thinking the man at the far end in the white shirt may be him? You definitely cannot tell the height of the person, but the weight seems a little heavy for a person that is to be 5'4" and 120 lbs IMO. That person seems to be staring at that woman for quite some time and definitely seems to have an distinctive walk, so maybe the family was able to identify that person as a high probability??? Wonder if it was him if he is having some sort of cognitive problem causing his disappearance?

The search continues for missing Levelland man Jacob Wayne Duffee. He was last seen on September 29, 2017 in Levelland.

He was seen wearing a green shirt, khaki pants, a dark-colored ball cap and a dark-colored jacket.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office says officers found Duffee's 2005 F-250 pickup near County Road 7570 and University in South Lubbock. The door was open and the lights were on.

Since then, there have been tips he has been spotted in Lubbock.

Levelland Police say he may have been seen at Market Street on 19th and Quaker on October 8, 2017.

His family says they have received tips he may have been seen at the USDA office in Lubbock.

The family says a new search and rescue team out of Houston is coming in sometime this week to continue search efforts.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for anyone with any information that leads to his return.

The link says they believe the guy in the white shirt to be him, so yeah. The weight does seem to be a bit off, but maybe its just the way the camera is angled? 120 lb for a grown man seems to be really small. I wonder if that information is correct? My 18 year old is skinny and he weighs 150 easily.

The USDA office? As in Dept of Agriculture? I wonder why he would turn up there? How far is that from where his truck was found?

Yes, the Dept of Agriculture. I don't know why specifically he was there - but it is reasonable to think that he could have been there because of his landscaping business. They deal with conservation, pesticides, etc.

I am not totally certain how far - I plan on mapping it all out this afternoon including the sighting at United.

According to the article, Jacob's employee and the employee's father, are involved in his murder. How sad. =(

Jeez... this is not the ending I was expecting. RIP Jacob.

A woman came forward to tell police on Tuesday, according to court records, that Cerna confessed to one of his family members about shooting a man in the face. Police were told the shooting happened about a month ago.

Police were told the victim’s body was at first in a bathtub in a Central Lubbock residence, but then later it was put in a shallow grave near 50th and Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to court records. The gun was thrown into a pond.

“Oscar Diaz Cerna had told [another man] he had just killed his boss,” court records said. Cerna asked a family member to help dispose of the body.

Cerna’s dad, Oscar P. Cerna, 41, was arrested Wednesday for tampering with evidence.

“[Police] went to the area where [Oscar P. Cerna] stated the body had been disposed of,” court records said. “A short while later [an officer] called and advised … that a body had been located at 44th Street and Magnolia in a water drainage culvert.”

Police then confronted Oscar Diaz Cerna on Tuesday.

“Oscar Diaz Cerna … did state he had been with Jacob Duffee before his disappearance but denied killing him,” court records said.

He admitted having an argument with Duffee at his apartment, but that Duffee left after that argument.

At some point during his conversation with police, Oscar Diaz Cerna stopped answering questions and left the police department. Police then requested an arrest warrant. Cerna was arrested Tuesday evening.
