Brian D. Duncan, 38, was last seen at the Duckworth Dock near the Steel Bridge at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Duncan uses a motorized wheelchair. Duncan is 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has brown hair, brown facial hair and blue eyes. He often wears blue wire-framed glasses.

Well, this does not sound good :(.

The obvious place to look would be in the water where he was last seen. He could have accidentally gotten too close and his wheelchair fell in or maybe he hit the wrong button on accident and couldn't stop in time... I hope that's not the case and there is some other explanation with him being safe.

I wonder if he is suffering from depression of sorts? It sounds as though he was leading an active life prior to the accident. I can only imagine how hard it would be to recover mentally from such a change in your life, not to mention the physical aspects. I sure hope he is okay!

Who last saw him there? Why was he there? Which part of the dock was it, the walkway with rails that goes to the steel bridge, or the part past the steel bridge out by the main part of the Willamette River where ships go?

All very good questions. Was he seen by someone who knows him, captured on camera, or did a stranger see someone in a motorized wheelchair? Would make a big difference, IMO.

There are a couple of things that give me a bit of hope:

1. No one is reporting they are searching the river.

2. LE released three additional photos of Brian on Oct. 19, three days after he was last seen:
"Update: Public's Help Sought to Locate a Missing 38-Year-Old Man (Photo) - 10/19/17
The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit continues to attempt to locate 38-year-old Brian D. Duncan, who was last seen near the Eastbank Esplanade. Detectives have released additional photographs of Duncan.

Anyone seeing Duncan should immediately call 9-1-1 so officers can check his welfare. Anyone with non-emergency information should contact Detective Lori Fonken at 503-823-1081, Lori.Fonken@portlandoregon.gov or missing@portlandoregon.gov"

Still the longer this goes on, the more worried I am. I really want Brian to be found ASAP. His story hurts my heart.

From 2016:
UPDATE: Bicycle Rider Injured After Being Struck by a Driver on North Rosa Parks Way

Officers learned that Hellbusch was driving a white 2005 Mercury Marquis westbound on North Rosa Parks Way approaching Delaware Avenue and a red light. Hellbusch continued driving and failed to stop for the red light, striking Duncan in the crosswalk.

84-year-old driver runs red light, hits cyclist in crosswalk, police say

Hellbusch hasn't been cited or arrested because the crash remains under investigation, police said. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office will review the case and consider criminal charges once the investigation is complete, police said. That's standard practice in such cases.

Any traffic citations Hellbusch might face would be issued after the criminal review of the case is over, police said.

This is an article of March of this year about the community effort that helped Brian and his family to purchase and re-model a new house, two blocks North of his current home::

They have a website for this project, which seems to be still in progress:

Painting is scheduled for October 27th, weather dependent.

Heartwarming! Brian really has a strong support network and seems to be doing well now.

I hope he did not fall into the water! Where is he??? It's been a week.

Oh man, this doesn't sound good at all. :(
So sad....

I am dumbfounded how they can't find this man
