The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 5800 Block of Old Boyce Road in Alexandria in reference to a fire located in the roadside ditch. Investigators say upon arrival deputies observed what appeared to be the remains of two people within the fire. A third body, said to be that of a woman, was found near the Pineville Expressway.

3 bodies all in one day! I wonder if they are connected. I wouldn’t think burned and dumped bodies (where foul play is strongly inidicated) turn up everyday in small to medium sized city like Alexandria.

according to this link, one body is Latisha White and they have arrested Matthew Sonnier in her murder, and they don't think that case is related to the 2 burned bodies together.

Charred ground is left after a Wednesday morning fire in which "what appeared to be human remains" were found. The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office hasn't released much information yet on the case, other than that autopsies will be conducted on Thursday.

Identified and arrests:

Siblings, 29-year-old Matthew Sonnier and 31-year-old Ebony Nicole Sonnier, were arrested on first-degree murder charges in the deaths of two Alexandria men whose burned bodies were found in Rapides Parish. Investigators discovered the remains of Kendrick Dwann Horn, 33, and Jeremy Deon Norris, 28, after extinguishing a fire in a roadside ditch last week.

The Sonniers also face first-degree murder charges in the fatal stabbing of 42-year-old Latish White, an Alexandria woman whose partially clothed body was found in a Pineville road approximately three hours before the discovery of the burned bodies. Police have described Matthew Sonnier as a “known acquaintance” of White.

Defense moves to continue death penalty trial set for Sept. due to COVID-19

The capital defense attorneys who represent Matthew Sonnier, 33 of Pineville, in his death penalty trial scheduled to begin Sept. 13 in Rapides Parish, are asking Judge Chris Hazel to continue the trial due to rising COVID-19 cases in the parish.

Sonnier is charged with three counts of first degree murder for the Oct. 18, 2017 deaths of Jeremy Norris, 28, Kendrick Horn, 33, and Latish White, 42. He also faces two counts of obstruction of justice from a separate indictment related to the case. If convicted on the murder charges, he faces the death penalty

The case of Ebony Sonnier is moving closer to an Aug. 8 trial date.

Sonnier, 36, no longer faces the death penalty in the October 2017 slayings of Jeremy Deon Norris, 28; Kendrick Dwann Horn, 33; and Latish Renee White, 42.
