Details of Disappearance
Lindsay Harris moved from New York to Nevada to be with her boyfriend. Lindsay always kept in touch with those she loved from home, but hasn't called anyone since May 5, 2005. On May 4, Harris called her twin brother to wish him well on his college exams, which was the last time Lindsay's family spoke with her. Her boyfriend came home on May 5 to find her car and purse. Her car was later found at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

Massive search for missing woman

A 22 year old Las Vegas woman, who has been missing since May, will be the focus of a massive search Saturday. Lindsay Harris' car was found in the parking lot of the Excalibur.

Her family arrived from New York Friday to help in the search. About 250 people, including police and the Air National Guard will be searching the desert surrounding Las Vegas all day Saturday.

Oh boy, there is a lot more to this story then I thought. I wonder what kind of a man she got mixed up with anyway....she was working the streets and had been arrested several times. What kind of a boyfriend would be satisfied with his girlfriend living that type of lifestyle? He was a wanta be "something". Maybe she was supporting both of them with her body.

I hope the police have taken a good long look at the boyfriend. Maybe she wanted to stop living that type of life and he didn't want her to. Her mom said that the last time she talked to her daughter she was depressed and hinting at coming home. Maybe that didn't go over well with the boyfriend.
Easy for him to take her car and park it in a lot at the casino.

I hope that LE finds this girl. Her poor parents. Not only finding out that their daughter is missing but then learning about her life style on top of that. Reminds me of the other young girl that was murdered. Her parents thought she was dancing but she was actually stripping in some joint. There was also another girl that was working for an escort service that came up missing. I remember seeing it on one of the shows...Nancy, Greta or Rita. I don't know if they ever found her....they did find her car somewhere too.

I believe one of the girls you are thinking of is Catherine Wood. She moved from Ohio to New York to pursue a career in dance. She told her family she was dancing on Broadway, but she was actually working at a gentlemen's club. I'll try to attach a link. (I'm new at this.)

I've done several searches about Lindsay, and I've not (yet) found any online participation by members of her family.
 
This came from Jessie Foster's mom in an email. I will try to find more about Lindsay's remains being identified.

just got the worse news in an email today from Lindsay's mother, Martha. Lindsay was identified through her DNA, sadly she was murdered. She will be going home to her family, FINALLY. A celebration of her life will be held. Martha's baby is coming home at last, her family is being restored. God bless the Harris family. Glendene...www.jessiefoster.ca

Missing woman’s remains found in Illinois

ILLINOIS -- The remains of a missing Skaneateles woman have been found in Illinois.

Lindsay Harris, 22, disappeared in May of 2005 in Las Vegas. Three years later, police say she was killed and her remains found several states away in Illinois.

According to the Jenna Foundation, which helped in the search for Harris, the case is considered a homicide and police are actively investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.

Harris was a 2002 graduate of Skaneateles High School and had been living in Las Vegas for about two years before she disappeared.

The remains of a former Skaneateles woman who had been missing for three years has been found, according to a family friend.

Lindsay Harris was last seen May 4, 2005, in Henderson, Nev. The then 21-year-old had been living there for two years.

Illinois state police notified her parents, Robert and Martha Harris, on Saturday that their daughters remains had been found in central Illinois, said Janice Grieshaber, executive director of the Jenna Foundation and family friend. She would not say exactly where or when the body was found.

She didn't know how Lindsay Harris got to Illinois.

Illinois state police consider her death a homicide and are investigating, Grieshaber said.

I"m so sorry to hear this. But Illinois? That's bizarre. Maybe she was trying to get home????
 
RIP dear Lindsay.

Does anyone know why only one or two of the stories are printing that only her legs were found? Most of the stories make it sound like they found more remains than that.

I'm not sure exactly why they wouldn't report it. I suppose it could be that the details came out later so they just went with what they had.

My guess is they left it out on purpose though, either since the family wasn't telling news the details so they went with their wishes, or just because it was 'too much' info for tv news show?

From one article (that has no specific mention of what was found) there is enough info there that I think the news already knew the remains were her legs. It has quotes about 'partial remains', no facial characteristics or fingerprints to go on, etc. Seems to me like they just didn't want to say the details.
