Two men watched in horror as their mate went through a woodchipper and died - as they tried to help their neighbour clear her driveway

Two men have watched in horror as their friend's body went through a woodchipper.

The farming accident occurred at a residence in Goomboorian, near Gympie in Queensland, as a group of men were clearing a driveway at about 7.40 pm on Sunday night.

Queensland police said the 54-year-old's body went through the machine after he fell in. He died instantly.

More gruesome than bizarre I guess. These cases do seem to come up from time to time.

OMG ... I know too well what a wood chipper can do. This is beyond horrific. I just hope the men who saw it happen will get counseling and a lot of emotional support.

POLICE are remaining tight-lipped about reports that the ex-girlfriend of a man who died following a horrific incident involving a woodchipper last year was now a person of interest in the case.

In November, Bruce Saunders’ body entered an industrial woodchipper on a rural property in Gympie in Queensland.
Initially it was thought a tragic accident ended the 54-year-old Nambour man’s life. The
Courier-Mail on Wednesday reported that Mr Saunders’ 57-year-old former partner Sharon Graham was now a person of interest.

Two men who were with Mr Saunders when he died — Greg Roser, 58, of Deception Bay and Peter Koenig, 61, of Gympie — are also persons of interest, it had been reported.

It’s understood Ms Graham could be a major beneficiary of Mr Saunders’ estate, reported the Courier-Mail .

Men charged with murdering man in 'horrific' woodchipper incident

Two men, Gregory Lee Roser, 59, and Peter John Koenig, 61, from Deception Bay and Gympie, were taken into custody this morning and brought to the Maroochydore Watchhouse and are now assisting police with their enquiries.

The pair have been charged with one count each of murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

They are expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court later today.

A 57-year-old woman was arrested in Coolangatta while she was travelling from New South Wales to Queensland and is expected to be charged today.

It is beyond awful to even consider. Did they just get on with their lives after this? (Imagine!) I read, some time back, that the victim had left several hundred thousand dollars in super, and that there were questions about the will. I guess it will all come out in time, ugh!

According the the Daily Mail today, (not the best source, I know), the female who was arrested was the person who planned the murder. When she was arrested yesterday, she was living in the victims house, and driving his car.

And, while the two charged men were preparing to carry out SG's plan, SG took the recently widowed woman who owned the property being cleared, out for the day. It was the third and last scheduled weekend the men were to work on this woman's property and the murder happened when the job was finishing up, 7.40pm, on dusk.
Its like they had three weekends to do it and right at the last minute, they did it.

‘Love square’ could be murder motive

Two men have been committed to stand trial for the alleged murder of Sunshine Coast butcher Bruce Saunders, whose body went through a woodchipper on a rural Queensland property in November 2017.
Key points:

Police body camera footage from the scene was tendered as evidence
Peter Koenig, Gregory Roser and Sharon Graham have each been charged with murder
It is alleged Mr Koenig and Mr Roser killed Mr Saunders whose body went through a woodchipper
The prosecution said all three men — Mr Koenig, Mr Roser and the deceased Mr Saunders — had been in an intimate relationship with Ms Graham.

The Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard, Ms Graham had financial motivation for the murder, having recently increased Mr Saunders' life insurance and having his will written in her favour.

Gympie man Peter Koenig, 62, Deception Bay man Gregory Roser, 60, and Sunshine Coast woman Sharon Graham, 57, have each been charged with Mr Saunders' murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
