ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. — An AMBER Alert has been issued in North Carolina for a 3-year-old.

The alert said Mariah Kay Woods is a 3-year-old white female, approximately 2 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 30 pounds. She has brown hair, and blue eyes.

The alert said the child was abducted.
She is missing from Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Authorities have not released a picture of the child.

Just got the amber alert on my phone.

Amber Alert issued for missing toddler in Onslow County. Last seen at 6:45 am at 2405-7 Dawson Creek Road, Jacksonville.

The child is white, approximately 2'9" tall and weighs 30 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 3-year-old girl believed to have been abducted from Jacksonville, North Carolina.

According to WITN, the girl was last seen around 6:45 a.m. The media outlet is reporting the Onslow County Sheriff's Office has interviewed the girl's mother and her live-in boyfriend.

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit is assisting with the search, according to WITN.

the childs grandmother, says the child normally wears orthopedic braces on both feet and when she is without them she doesnt walk straight.

they are searching a wooded area adjacent to the home and part of that search area is on Camp Lejeune property. Camp Lejeune is a Marine Base.

Oh no! I hope she wandered off and is found safe.

Ive known several people and their spouses who were stationed at Lejeune. Jacksonville is known to Marines and passers-through as a rough area because of all the bars, strip clubs and tattoo parlors but looking at the statistics, the crime rates are actually lower than the state averages.

They also conducted a search of the house and vehicle.

Officials are asking neighbors in the area to check their yards, sheds and other areas for any evidence of a little girl.

They are searching house, cars, surrounding areas ... so are there doubts that she was abducted? I thought an Amber Alert always includes a vehicle that was seen taking the child?

Hopefully she just wandered off and is found soon!

I was going to post the same thing. "live in boyfriend" usually equals a dead child.

Editing to add, especially when she was "last seen" at 11:45 pm but not noticed missing until 6:45 am, and was only wearing a pair of panties to bed.

Was she abducted from her bed? Were all doors and windows found locked when family discovered her missing? Any signs of forced entry?

How common/rare is it that a child is snatched from her bed at night by a stranger? Doesn't happen often I think?
