TX - Day Care Operator Charged With Child Abuse
SAN ANTONIO -- A 55-year-old woman was charged with injury to a child Monday after she admitted to police that she intentionally hurt her neighbor's 4-month-old baby boy.
Ludivina Morales is accused of breaking the baby's leg and wrist about two weeks ago at a day care she runs out of her Southwest Side home in the 8500 block of Creek Bend.
Police said that Morales admitted to investigators that she got frustrated and took out her anger on the baby, Brian Pecina, who lives across the street from the suspect.
Morales told investigators that she twisted the infant's right leg and yanked the baby towards the rail of a crib, causing a fracture to the leg, police said. The suspect claims the baby broke his right wrist in the crib rail, police said.
Doctors told detectives that the injuries were 2 weeks old and were caused by child abuse, police said.
The suspect didn't say anything to reporters as she was escorted out of police headquarters, but her husband, Juan Morales, said that his wife "feels bad" about the incident.
Juan Morales said that his wife was caring for a few children in addition to their two grandchildren.
Ludivina Morales has been running the day care since 1995, and during her last inspection, which was in December 2005, she was cited for 23 violations.
The injuries were 2 weeks old. Poor little thing.

From the article:
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, which issues day-care licenses, ordered the suspect to cease operating the day care while the case is investigated. If she refuses to comply with the order, the agency will take her to court.
So her license wasn't taken away in December when she had 23 violations? What is wrong here?????
So this woman "feels bad" about what she's done? That's it? B#tch.
This is the second post I've read in the last few minutes about a 4 month old in San Antonio being abused.
