    NE - Sydney Loofe, 24, Lincoln, 15 Nov 2017 #2

LPD confirmed they are looking for Sydney Loofe, a 24-year-old who lives and works in Lincoln.

Police said the last contact anyone had with her was on Nov. 15 when she sent a Snapchat about being excited for an upcoming date.bbm

Her phone has been shut off, and was pinged through her cell phone provider for the last time in Wilber, Nebraska, LPD said.

Loofe works at Menards in Lincoln, and has failed to show up to work for a few days.

Police said this is very abnormal behavior for the 24-year-old, and added the concern is she hasnít checked in with anyone since being reported missing.

Police added there is no indication Loofe is in any danger, but want to locate her to check her welfare.

A 24-year-old former Neligh woman is missing. Sydney Loofe now lives and works in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from Neligh-Oakdale in 2011.According to Sydney's father, George Loofe, principal at Neligh-Oakdale, Sydney was supposed to go out Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, with a female she met online.

Loofe said, "We are afraid she has been abducted."

Sydney's cell phone has been shut off, but was last pinged in Wilber, Nebraska, a small community approximately 40 miles southwest of Lincoln.

Loofe said he was unsure how his daughter traveled to Wilber as her car remains at her apartment. He and Susie Loofe, parents of Sydney, were first made aware of the situation Thursday evening, Nov. 16, at approximately 5 p.m.

Friends of Sydney contacted her sister and informed her Sydney did not show up for work Thursday and no one had been able to contact her.

To those who were wondering about the body found in Trenton, Missouri that was mentioned way earlier in Sydney's thread (a few of us originally thought it might have been Sydney, before she was found in Clay County, NE), the remains were identified as Tanner Ward. Cause of death is ruled suicide. I posted the news link to his missing persons board.

For the first time, law enforcement officials said they found evidence of foul play in the case. But they provided no further details on what might have happened. An autopsy has been ordered.

I am just so heartbroken for Sydney's family, I honestly didn't believe it would take this route. I had a strong feeling they were hiding her somewhere alive or someone else had her. To be able to kill an innocent girl who just wanted to go on a date, dump her body like trash and then go play at a casino and post videos claiming your innocence you have to have something seriously wrong with you or on some of the heaviest drugs.

I agree with you 100% I was so hoping this would have a different ending ...I literally have tears reading the message from her family. Now I hope they catch the people responsible .

RIP Sydney. I am beginning to become numb to all the senseless evil in this world. I learned a long time ago to keep my hands to myself as did many others and I wonder when people will start remembering this very basic thing. My thoughts and love go out to her family and friends. I wish them all justice and peace in the time to come.

It is both humbling and alarming to realize how often risk presents itself in our lives. By participating in WS, I have learned so much about being aware of the world around me. There will always be people out there causing others harm. I encourage everyone to be overprotective, be cautious, be that crazy aunt/uncle, sister/brother, coworker that warns people about being a victim. You never know who might be at risk.

    RIP Sydney

Exactly...this weighs on me heavily at times because I read so many cases where it could have easily been me. Since joining, I definitely look at the world a little differently, watch my surroundings a lot more and just watch every single person I come into contact with a little more carefully.

I genuinely hope however she died she did not suffer. It would have been so cold and lonely and scary in the middle of a field with no one to hear your cry for help.
We all know who did this, and law enforcement will not let them get away with this, let alone even be able to sleep at night. I hope whatever happened plays on loop for them as they lay in a cold cell locked up at night, and it eats at both of them slowly for the rest of their lives. I hope bailey pictures her own daughter in her head and how sydney was someone's baby girl too. This is tragic and disgusting to even think humans can do such a thing. Rest easy beautiful soul.
