It happened around 7:19 a.m. in an underground walkway between Times Square and the Port Authority Bus Terminal subway stations in the area of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue.

The device was apparently being carried by the suspect when it exploded prematurely. The suspect has only been identified as a man in his 20s, possibly from Brooklyn. Sources said the suspect had a second device on him. The suspect apparently suffered a laceration to his thigh in the blast.

"Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton, speaking on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," said preliminary information suggests the man is in his 20s, possibly from Bangladesh, "who supposedly was setting the device off in the name of ISIS, so definitely a terrorist attack, definitely intended."

The man has been in the country for about seven years, Bratton said."

Article also states that the only person injured was the bomber himself.

Thank God nobody else was hurt. I’m very concerned about attacks in the next few weeks in the States and Europe.

Eleven subway lines go through the 42nd Street station, and the station is connected to the Port Authority bus terminal. And, of course, the station is under Times Square.

Even with no injuries to people other than the perp, this causes disruption to thousands and thousands of people as the work week begins.

An ISIS-inspired Bangladeshi national set off an homemade explosive device at the Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station Monday morning. The suspected bomber – a 27-year-old who lived in Brooklyn – had wires attached to him and was armed with a five-inch metal pipe bomb and battery pack as he walked through the Manhattan transit hub. The man partially detonated the device, which he was carrying in the right side of his jacket, prematurely inside the passageway to the A, C, and E trains at 8th Avenue and W. 42nd Street at around 7:40 a.m.
