North Charleston, SC - The family of a missing North Charleston woman fears she may never come home. ABC News 4 looks into the disappearance of Selina Barfield. The question for investigators...did she take off on her own or was she murdered. A closer look.. in this week's Carolina Cold Case.

32 year old Selina Barfield, went missing 2 and half years ago.. .. while police search for Salina. Her family who knew her as Nina, search for answers. "She loved us, we loved her...very much. She really loved her kids a lot. We miss her very much, very much," says Nina's sister, Lisa Ray.

Nina's sister questions her disappearance in July of 2003. She was living with her boyfriend in the Fairmont Trailer Park on Remont Road...a relationship Barfield's family blames for their sister's drug use and trouble with the law. After Barfield was beaten several times by her boyfriend...her sister filed a probate warrant for her arrest, hoping she'd be admitted to rehab, where she'd be safe. "Selina ended up going missing before they picked her up on a probate warrant...she went missing a couple weeks after her last beating," Ray told us.

I did a search on Google, and at the National Center for Missing Adults, and I went to the story at the link you provided. I can't find a listing for her - and I can't find a photo.

Sounds more like a "if you are ready to confess we are here to listen" story than a search for this missing woman.

Details of Disappearance
Barfield's family last saw her during June 2003. She spoke to her uncle on the telephone on July 29 of that year. She has never been heard from again.

At the time of her disappearance, she was living with her boyfriend at the Fremont Trailer Park on Belmont Road in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Her boyfriend was abusive and beat her on several occasions, and Barfield herself was involved with drugs and had been in trouble with the law.

Her sister filed a probate warrant for her arrest, hoping to be able to get her into a rehabilitation program, but Barfield disappeared before she could be picked up.

Barfield's family believes foul play was involved in her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.
