Marlene "Slim" Smith found guilty in Proviano slaying

Marlene "Slim" Smith was found found guilty of murder Tuesday afternoon in the 1997 slaying of Baldwin's Anthony Proviano.
A jury deliberated about a day-and-a-half before finding Smith guilty shortly before 5 p.m.
Smith, 50, formerly of Washington, Pa., was accused of killing Proviano near a St. Clairsville, Ohio hotel.

Proviano was reported missing by his parents after he failed to show for dinner at their Baldwin Borough home on Dec. 24, 1997. He was en route from Cincinnati, where he was in medical school.
