Authorities in Marion County, Fla., hope a hotel key can offer clues into the discovery of a man's body in a rock quarry.
Police said the body of a white man was found floating in some water at a rock quarry near Northwest Gainesville Road in Marion County.

The man is described as being in his 40s with balding dark hair and a red beard. He is under 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

:( wonder who he is .

This case has been reported on our local news the last few days. The "key" shown on the news footage appears to be an older type hotel key - room 150.

I hope someone calls in the necessary tip that identifies this deceased man. Sad case. :(

KENDRICK - Authorities are investigating the death of a man found floating in a lime pit Tuesday evening.

Two fishermen were driving in a wooded area in Kendrick around the 6800 block of Northwest Gainesville Road looking for a spot to fish when they discovered the body, according to a spokeswoman with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

With a helicopter flashing beams of light over the wooded area and the 84-acre lime pit, investigators were trying to sift through the area Tuesday night.
