Circumstances of Disappearance
Condon was working as a bartender at Carl's Bad Tavern during the early morning hours of February 27, 1991. She had only been working at the bar for a couple of days and she was the only one working that night. At the time, the establishment was located along SR 550 in Spring Township in Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Condon was last seen at approximately 12:45 AM by several of the bar's patrons. The building was discovered abandoned and unlocked when employees arrived later in the day. There was no sign of a struggle, robbery or other crime in the tavern. Condon was nowhere to be found. Her car was located in the bar's parking lot. Condon's cowboy boots were discovered in the men's restroom of the building.

Condon is the mother of two children. In addition to being involved in her children's lives, Brenda Condon ran two arms of a cleaning-service franchise, one in Williamsport and one in State College. Only a few months before she disappeared, she moved from Williamsport to State College to be closer to the homes she cleaned and to be closer to her children.
Condon was reported missing to police the evening of Feb. 27, but the search did not begin until March 2. Condon was scheduled to pick up her two children in Clearfield March 2 for visitation. When she failed to arrive, police began the search.

The following three composites feature patrons of Carl's Bad Tavern who remain unidentified. They visited the bar during the night of Condon's disappearance.

Brenda Louise Condon should be celebrating her 44th birthday Wednesday.

But Monday marks another anniversary in Condon's life or, perhaps, her death. It has been 15 years since anyone has seen or heard from her.

Her cowboy boots were found in the men's room of the former Carl's Bad Tavern in Spring Township, where she was working as a bartender the night of Feb. 26, 1991. The next morning, her car was still parked outside the bar, off state Route 550.

But Condon, a mother of two, was gone.

State police, who took over the investigation into Condon's disappearance in 1997, are still searching for her. They admit, though, that she likely is dead and likely the victim of foul play.

"Obviously, if Ms. Condon is still alive, we would like to know that," Trooper Joseph Cigich said. "But if she met with some kind of untimely demise and her remains were discarded and not yet identified, we're trying to help the family come to some sort of closure."

Wow Awagner the sketch and composite definitely has a strong resemblence to Brenda, and so do the stats!

The two locations are only hours apart.

Problem is the estimated date of death... either the estimate is very, very wrong, or she was alive for some years after her disappearance????

I strongly urge you to tell LE about this possibility however as its too startling to be discounted.

I left a message with the crimestopper number that was listed in the article. When I was still a doenet member I found that but I dont remember if it was ever submitted or not and since I am no longer a member cant find out so I called it in..The time in between was a few years but since no one knows what happened anything is possible..

Anne

That's great Anne! At the very least law enforcement now has the information and ultimately they are the ones who will decide if they will look into it further. Good going!

Police continue investigation in disappearance 18 years ago
Friday, February 27, 2009
MILESBURG - State police at Rockview continue their investigation into the disappearance of Brenda Lousie Condon, who disappeared 18 years ago today.
Ms. Condon was last seen during the early morning hours of Feb. 27, 1991, at what was then known as Carl's Bad Tavern, currently the location of Home Delivery Pizza, where she was working as a bartender.

Employees found the bar unoccupied the following day, and Ms. Condon's car was in the parking lot. A pair of cowboy boots believed to be hers was found in the men's restroom, but she was nowhere to be found.

Spring Township Police Department initiated the investigation upon notification of the disappearance in 1991. Police retained primary jurisdiction over the investigation until 1997, at which time they requested state police assume primary jurisdiction.

Troopers actively continue to investigate the disappearance. Numerous leads have been followed up throughout the ensuing 18-year investigation and are continuing to be investigated, but to date, the whereabouts of Ms. Condon is still unknown.

To view information on the investigation, visit the state police Web site at www.psp.state.pa.us, click on "Troop/Station Information," "Troop G - Hollidaysburg," then "Investigations."

Police continue to request that anyone with information about the disappearance contact them at 355-7545. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous may contact Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99CRIME or by calling Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4-PA-TIPS.

Ms. Condon is a white female and was born March 1, 1962. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as standing 5 feet, 3 1/2 inches tall, and weighing 110 pounds.

She wore her reddish-brown hair shoulder length and had a tattoo of a ring of roses on her right ankle. Her eyes are light blue, but she wore light green contacts.

...Barkeep's fate a mystery Condon vanished in February 1991 from the former Carl's Bad Tavern in Spring Township, Centre County. Condon was working alone as a bartender at the Route 550 bar the morning of Feb. 27. She last was seen at 12:45 a.m.

The next day, employees discovered her car in the parking lot and her cowboy boots in the men's room of the unlocked bar. Police found no signs of a struggle. The investigation focused on three unidentified patrons in the bar that night, but they never were located.

Condon was reported missing Feb. 27, but the search for her didn't begin until March 2, when she failed to pick up her children as scheduled.

With adults, how quickly the search begins often depends on whether anyone knows they're missing and can convince the police it's out of the ordinary. Some people drop out of sight for a few days -- but they usually return.

If no one knows they're missing, time passes before police become involved. Even worse, people who are never reported missing end up on the other side of the equation -- as Jane and John Does in the local morgue...

State police often work on missing persons cases

By Josh Kowalkowski
Collegian Staff Writer
The Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview have assisted in many missing-persons cases over the years, including the cases of State College resident Brenda Condon, student Cindy Song and most recently Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar.

State College Police Sgt. Mark Argiro said one of the most memorable missing persons cases was when a State College woman disappeared on Feb. 27, 1991.

"It was a very sad case," Argiro said. "She had a little daughter at the time."

Condon, who was 29 at the time, had just finished her shift as a barmaid at a local tavern.

Trp. Joseph Cigich, a criminal investigator at the Pennsylvania Police Barracks at Rockview, said Condon was reported missing by a colleague on the late February afternoon.

"When another worker came in on the 27th, he found her car in the parking lot unattended," Cigich said.

The Spring Township Police handled the case from 1991 to 1997 and then Cigich was personally assigned the case in 1999 when Spring Township asked the state police to get involved, Cigich said.

Cigich said Condon was last seen in the early morning hours by bar patrons. Cowboy boots were found in the men's restrooms that were later identified to be hers.

Cigich said that in the last six months, police have received calls about Condon's disappearance.

However, none of the leads have helped to solve the case, he said.

The state police at Rockview are also assisting the Ferguson Township Police Department in the Cindy Song Case, but Cigich said they have not received a call about Song in at least a year.

Ferguson Township Police Det. Brian Sprinkle, the lead investigator on the case, said there are no new leads in the case but added that the case will always remain open.

Sprinkle said Song, who was 21 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen during the early morning hours of Nov. 1, 2001, when a friend was dropping her off at her apartment.

"It was a very unusual case," Sprinkle said.

"There was no crime scene, evidence of a crime, nobody, nothing," he added.

Since 2001, there have been many missing people reported in State College, but the majority of them have been found soon after being reported missing.

State College Police Sgt. John Gardner said there is only one missing person who was entered [the National Crime Information Center] a couple weeks ago for a 55-year-old man from Harris Township.

"There's no indication he's in any danger, but we continue to keep the case active," he said.

Argiro said there are no outstanding missing-persons cases in State College now, and they are generally very rare.

"People turn up at their friend's house, at a neighbor's or on trips," he said.

The state police at Rockview said they are assisting different police departments in all three missing person cases.

"Usually we take the calls we receive about missing persons and work jointly with the police department handling the case," Cigich said.

"And we either credit or discredit the lead or information," he said.

In cases like Condon and Song, where the person has been missing for years, Cigich said it can be difficult getting new information.

Although the validity of these calls can come into question, Cigich said the police still follow up on everything.

"It's really not feasible to conduct searches anymore unless we got specific information or leads that would direct us to a place," Cigich said. "Leads in these cases are usually few and far between."

Just in case anyone is interested, Brenda's then BF at time of her disappearance was just busted and in jail. GP is well known amoungst us locals as not exactly being on the up-and-up.

Gas station owner faces drug charges

Sara Ganim

STATE COLLEGE — Centre County law enforcement surrounded Greg's Sunoco Friday evening and arrested its owner, Gregory Palazzari, charging him and his dealer with selling $50,000 of cocaine a month in the county — some from the University Drive gas station.

“This is a significant investigation, a significant amount of cocaine,” said District Attorney Michael Madeira, as he explained that police seized a pound of cocaine in making the arrests.
Police are still searching for Mario Rincon, 27, who they say is Palazzari’s dealer, and was bringing four to eight ounces into State College biweekly for Palazzari and others to turn around in smaller quantities.
Each ounce has a street value of about $1,600, Madeira said, and Palazzari, 53, of 2243 Bristol Ave., was purchasing an ounce every couple of days.
This arrest was the result of a two-month investigation that began in June by the local drug task force, but police have information that Rincon and Palazzari were providing the area with cocaine for several years.
“We believe Rincon and Palazzari had an established drug business in the State College area and operated for many years,” Attorney General Tom Corbett said in a press release. “Both men are allegedly responsible for distributing approximately $50,000 worth of cocaine per month in State College.”

Madeira’s office will be prosecuting this case, but agents from the Attorney General’s Office are working on forfeitures related to the bust.
While Palazzari and another man, who hasn’t been identified, were being booked Friday night at the prison, police launched a statewide manhunt for fugitive Rincon.
Rincon managed to escape in his vehicle Friday when police arrived at his 621 Elmwood St. house, Madeira said.
Police stopped chasing him for safety reasons when he reached speeds of 130 mph, headed toward Lamar.
The third man was caught when he ran from Rincon’s home, but police were able to take him into custody. Madeira said they later found a pound of cocaine with him.
Palazzari owns Greg’s Sunoco at 605 University Drive. Police don’t believe Rincon was employed in the area, other than selling cocaine, Madeira said.
Madeira said the gas station will be shut down while police search it, but could reopen as long as there are employees to work there.
In addition to getting search warrants for the business, Madeira said police were also obtaining a search warrant for Rincon’s Lemont home Friday night.
Court documents on the arrest and searches won’t likely be available until Monday.
Madeira said it’s possible Palazzari could be in court as early as Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Rincon faces 25 drug-related counts, including delivery, possession and conspiracy. Palazzari faces 22 similar drug-related charges.
Anyone with information on Rincon’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation in State College at 1-800-255- 9564 or the State College Police Department.

It was a Tuesday night in February 1991 when Brenda Condon, 28, was tending bar at Carl’s Bad Tavern in Spring Township. She was a Clearfield High School graduate and the mother of two — Shawna, 10, and Todd, 12 — and it was her third night on the job. She had recently moved to State College from Williamsport because it was easier to be close to her kids after her divorce.

No one saw Condon, a petite woman with auburn hair that brushed her shoulders and blue eyes that she sometimes turned green with contact lenses, after the bar closed in those early-morning hours. Employees arriving to open up the next day found it empty, but Condon’s 1986 Mercury Capri was still in the parking lot. Her cowboy boots sat alone in the men’s room.

For 23 years, that is all anyone has known.

Third man charged in drug bust

Palazzari was booked at the prison on $50,000 bail. Vonada was sent to jail on $10,000 bail.

Palazzari is also known in the area as the live-in boyfriend of Brenda Condon, the 28-year-old mother of two who disappeared in 1991 from her waitressing job at Carl’s Bad Tavern, a Spring Township bar that no longer exists.

Condon’s sister, Iris Myers, said when she heard about the arrest Friday, she wondered why it took police so long to catch Palazzari.

She’s always believed that her sister’s disappearance was linked somehow to drug dealing.

“I feel that she knew something that (someone) didn’t want her to get out,” Myers said.”

This is Greg's P. Obituary, he died in 2016

I wonder if the family has more pictures of Brenda. There is only one and it's very blurry. I would like to have a better view on her teeth, they, or at least one, look(s) somehow chipped. Does anybody has thoughts about the three men who were spotted at the bar with her. Could they be the same trio that was busted in 2009?
