Murder investigation underway

Pittsfield police are investigating a murder.
...No arrests have been made, but the District Attorney's office said they want to talk to her husband -- Seymour Townsend.

The state's highest court has upheld the murder conviction of Seymour Townsend, who is serving a life sentence for stabbing his wife to death in 2006.

Townsend, 38, was convicted of murdering Michelle Padgett Townsend in March 2006, stabbing her 58 times in a Lincoln Street apartment. Police arrested him three weeks later when officers tracked him down in New York City and, in May 2007, a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder.
