I watched this this morning on the Today Show. I was appalled! I had tears in my eyes as the three young men decided to try and help. Kudo's to them. But for real....protect your kids because obviously no one else will!

The last sentence in the video says it all. "It's important to step UP not step OUT of the picture.

    Thanks for posting this link.

I can not get the video to run on my computer, and I didn't see it on tv....

    What happened????

It can't be an abduction that went on for hours.... was a child beaten? Tied to a tree???? what?????

They have it set up that a man will attempt to adduct a girl. He grabs her by the arm and is dragging her down the sidewalk....all the while she's screaming "he's not my dad".......everyone just walked right on by......most looked back, but still kept going.

I was thinking I was okay with the guy that had the boy with him.....thinking maybe he didn't get involved because he feared for their safety. BUT then I thought what kind of lesson is he teaching this kid? And I don't know that I would necessarily run up to the guy and physically interfere.....but I sure would stop and get my cell phone out and call 911.

I hate to say it but it doesn't surprise me one bit.

Not exactly comparable but about a month ago I spun out on ice, did a 180 and went skidding into the embankment and into a ditch. People who were driving in front and in back of me, not to mention oncoming cars, drove on by, looking at me and not stopping to see if I was alright or anything. There was no phone service because it was in the middle of a wildlife refuge, a well-known fact. Finally an off-duty deputy stopped and drove me for help.

People are just too much sometimes.

In New York there was a woman murdered in the early 60's under a streetlight in plain view of many people . Several people heard or saw it and all of them ignored it and did nothing. Pros had a very hard time getting witnesses to testify at trial. I couldnt believe it then and cant now.

It made a big impression on me and always remembered experts always say
dont yell help - you will be ignored - Yell Fire - that people will pay attention
    to.

Wow! I can't believe people don't stop to help. It's insane.

When I was 17 I drove to my grandparents for the first time by myself (about a 3 hour drive). Of course about halfway through the trip my car decided that was the time for the check engine light to come on. I was pulled over on the side of the road with the hood up and after about 2 minutes a younger guy stopped to help me. 3 other cars stopped to help after that-one was a lady who was about 50-she didn't know a lick about car repair but stopped to make sure that the young guy who stopped was really going to look at my car and not drag me off in the woods and kill me.

Funny thing is the guy who stopped was the son of one of my grandmother's friends. Small world.

I'd be hesitant to confront someone when I have my daughter (18 months) with me but I'd sure be raising a racket hollering for someone to stop the person dragging the kid in the car.
