OH - Serial Animal Killer; Fears He May "Graduate" to People, Butler County, 2006

Don't know if this has been posted before...and didn't think it should be posted under "Pets" category:

Butler County Dog Warden says, "a dog was found recently, skinned and tied up. The animal had been killed by a gunshot to the spine. A cat turned up soon after, shot in a similar fashion. The cat was still alive but died after it was found....(The Warden) fears that a sadistic killer of animals could be working up to taking human life. Some psychological studies have found that many serial killers start with cruelty to animals." Apparently there were similar incidents in 2001.

Wonder if there are any missing persons or unsolved murders in the area.

Bizarre. Seems there's a similar situation up in Superior Township in SE Michigan:

"A first, there were piles of skinned animals, mostly foxes and coyotes. But then a pet dog was found with its head cut off and feet bound with duct tape. Now, eight more dead dogs have turned up, including three that were decapitated."

The foxes and cotyotes could have been the work of poachers, and are a hell of a lot harder to capture than domestic dogs, though, so I don't know if that's the same person
