    My guess?
    The women mentioned in the article was probably the mom.

    There is no way this 10 yo should be held accountable for this.
    THis is totally the fault of the adults who raise her.
    If they told her to get rid of the crack and taught her anomisity towards the police??
    SHe is 10!

    How sad..

    If she wasn't explicitly taught what to do if the police ever raid the house, how would she know what to throw out? Of course the adults taught her what to do and that the police were the "bad guys". Sad all around for this young girl.

    Hi Amraann,
    Here is more on the story;
    story

    A woman from Lackawanna County is locked up for selling drugs out of her Scranton home but police said it's who was helping her that has them shaking their heads. The woman's 10 year old daughter is being called her accomplice.

    Police said late Thursday night a suspected drug user led them to the home on the north side. That man, Thomas Gantt, address unknown, offered to lead police to his dealer.

    That dealer, he said, is Lashawna Bennett, 31, of Scranton. Both were arrested on a number of drug charges but it's what happened after that surprised investigators.

    Police confiscated about $7,000 worth of crack cocaine from Gantt and Bennett. According to Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola, as officers went in the front door of the home, Bennett's 10 year old daughter was throwing the drugs out a second story back window. She's being slapped with a tampering with evidence charge.

    "What's so amazing about this investigation is how street smart this 10 year old child was, and how she was so uncooperative with police, such a bad attitude on her even at the age of 10," Jarbola said.

    Court papers state as Bennett was being arrested she told the girl, "Remember the code, don't say nothing."

    Jarbola said this is the youngest child his office has ever charged in a crime. Age 10 is also the minimum age at which a prosecutor can even file a juvenile petition.

    How very, very sad. Another fine example of being biologically able to produce a child, but having not one iota of knowledge about how to be a mother.

    I really hope this little girl has the charges dropped and is moved into a LOVING foster or adoptive home
