Thursday, May 04, 2006 Press News Service
SCHOOLCRAFT -- Workers digging near a former funeral home discovered the corpse of a 10-inch fetus that apparently was enbalmed in a glass jar for as many as 50 years.
Jerri French, who was developing a retail/office plaza on property of a former funeral home at Eliza Street and U.S. 131, hired workers to put in a water line.
The body was about 10 inches long and was in a jar that was about 12 inches long, Schoolcraft Police Chief Bryan Campbell. He said there was no apparent trauma to the body and that police do not suspect foul play.
