LAKELAND - The driver accused in a fatal crash in Brandon that killed four members of a wedding party last month had another tragedy last weekend: His 4-year-old son drowned.
Orient Road Jail inmate Kenneth Delmar Stewart's son, Anthony Quan Graham, was visiting relatives at 2310 Myrtle Road on Sunday afternoon when he was discovered unconscious in a swimming pool on the property, Polk County sheriff's spokeswoman Donna Wood said.
No charges are pending, and the death appears accidental, Wood said.
Stewart, 35, of Lakeland, was arrested a week after the April 21 crash and faces four counts of DUI manslaughter, four counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.
Stewart has not asked yet to attend his son's funeral, said Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter on Thursday. Inmates have been allowed brief releases previously to attend funerals of immediate relatives, she said.
