This Israeli national came to America on business, gave someone a ride, and has not been seen since.

His company has a profile listed too and it can be seen at
http://www.sl-us.com/ran.html

An article about his disappearance can be found here

Scroll down to "Saleman Feared Dead; Colorado Escapee Held"

This is a beautiful young man, and by all accounts, the type who would give you the shirt off his back, which may be why he is missing.

Please be careful, y'all, you never know who you are dealing with.
Praying for Ran, and his family, who miss him so much, Lanie

For Ran, and all who love and miss him.

Many prayers, Lanie

His father, Shimon Mesika, has made a homepage for him, and it can be viewed here, http://www.ranmesika.com/ Lots of pics here, too

He had no hits when I found him on my friend Tim Millers site,
www.TexasEquuSearch.org

I listed him on the boards at that time, did a mailing for him, and put out a feeler to try and find his family, but was unsuccessful. TE did a SAR on Ran down in Louisiana, before the convict was pulled over with his van. Scary story. Bless their hearts! I am very happy to see his family and friends have done so much for him. Also, now I have a way to reach his family. Thank God for that.

Here are all the matches on yahoo

I will keep this updated as I find out more.
With love and hope, Lanie

Man held in search for missing motorist

Federal authorities have charged a fugitive with assaulting two FBI agents and fraudulently using a credit card and van owned by an Israeli man who authorities believe may have been murdered after giving the escapee a ride.

Jonathan Lee Vernier, 31, escaped from the Colorado Correctional Center on April 19. He was serving a three-year sentence for motor-vehicle theft. Days later, according to the FBI, he was offered a ride near Houston by Ran Mesika, 22, a traveling jewelry salesman. Relatives say they last heard from Mesika on May 2. On Tuesday, police found Mesika's van parked at a Key West campground. Confronted later that day by two FBI agents in front of a bar, Vernier pushed the agents away and fled but was later arrested

Vernier under oath admits killing Ran Mesika at Walmart in Lake Charles

04/10/08

"Vernier said under oath he hit and killed Ran Miseka with a tire tube and dumped his body somewhere between Iowa and Crowley. He's yet to give any detail an exact location of where to find the body. That's all the family wants to learn this week, so they can find their son's body and take him home and give him a proper burial."

Herzliya buries local resident Ran Mesika, murdered in U.S.

"Ran Mesika, murdered in the United States five years ago, was finally laid to rest in his hometown of Herzliya Sunday, a month after his body was found in a Louisiana swamp.

After a lengthy identification process, which included DNA testing, the body was confirmed as Mesika's and flown to Israel last Friday. About 1,000 people attended the funeral."

Killer Gets Life Behind Bars

"On October 11, 2008, Jonathan Vernier represented himself in a Louisiana federal court sentencing hearing. More than five years after Vernier killed an Israeli tourist named Ran Mesika, U.S. Distict Judge Patricia Minaldi handed down the ruling: Vernier was given life in prison without the possibility of parole. It was the decision Shimon Mesika was hoping for, that the man who murdered his son wouldn't ever be allowed back on the street."
