WA - Darcy Quick, 23, Mt. Rainier, June 2006
A woman who graduated from Hope College in May is missing on Mt. Rainier.
Darcy Quick, 23, is a seasonal employee of a concessionaire at Mt. Rainer National Park. On Friday evening, she told friends after work she was going for a hike, and was last seen between 6:30 p.m. -- 8 p.m. PT.
KING Television in Seattle said searchers in Mount Rainier National Park combed the area around Longmire on Sunday.
Her roommate, Patti Wold, reported her missing just before noon on Saturday. Her car was found in the Longmire parking lot.
"Hopefully she's just stuck somewhere, maybe minimally hurt, maybe twisted an ankle, and we can find her today," said Wold.

Yikes....not smart to go hiking alone, especially at night, even though it was probably still light when she left. Prayers for Darcy!

Unforturnately, it looks like Darcy's body has been found. So terrible to happen just after she had finished college. If this is correct, condolences to her family and friends:
LONGMIRE Searchers say they have found what they believe to be the body of a 22-year-old Mount Rainier National Park employee who disappeared Friday night.
Park officials said that the body was spotted by a helicopter crew around 11:30 a.m. today. The body was lying near the base of Comet Falls near Longmire and matched the description of Darcy Quick, a Chicago-native and a seasonal employee of a park concession stand.
According to park officials, Quick told friends that she was going for a walk in the park and was last seen Friday around 6:30 p.m. She was reported missing the next morning by her roommate and her car was found in the Longmire parking lot. Park officials said it appeared possible that Quick may have fallen the 360-foot drop of the falls.

Darcy's death confirmed. My sympathies to her family and friends, what a tragic loss:

The NBC affiliate in Seattle says the body of Darcy Quick, 22, was airlifted out of the area Monday. Rescuers think Quick may have fallen as far 300 feet on the rocky terrain.
A native of Oregon, Quick's graduated from Hope with a degree in social work. Her parents live in Winfield, Illinois, where a vigil was held Monday night.
Her sister, Amanda, lives in Zeeland. Monday night, 24 Hour News 8 spoke to Hope College's Dean of Students. Richard Frost said Quick was very involved in campus activities and charity work.
