MN - NBA Player Watching Porn, Drunk Before Crash

(CBS) MINNEAPOLIS On March 30, Minnesota Timberwolves center Eddie Griffin was drunk and masturbating when he crashed his luxury SUV into a parked Suburban outside a store in Minneapolis, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by the man whose Suburban was hit in the crash.

WCCO-TV obtained copies of 911 calls and store surveillance video of the incident, along with an accident report the police submitted to the state, reports WCCO-TV's Caroline Lowe.

Several of the 911 callers that night said Griffin was drunk. One witness said Griffin told him he was watching pornography in a DVD player mounted on the dashboard of his Cadillac Escalade SUV when he struck a Chevy Suburban parked on University Avenue Southeast.

The location where Griffin crashed is located a couple miles from the Target Center where Griffin had played with his team several hours earlier.

Abed Hassuneh, who is the brother of the victim, said Griffin told him, "That he was masturbating himself going down that street. That's how the accident happened because he was not paying attention. He's paying attention to that video and all of a sudden he's shoveled somebody's car on the top of the sidewalk."

So at what point will the government have to step in and outlaw dashboard mounted TVs in cars? I'm amazed manufacturers continue to offer such obvivous driving hazards/districations to the driving public. At what point does someone have to step in and say--No, you DON'T need to have a home theater in your damn car? Your job is to drive the damn car, not be entertained every second of your worthless, shallow, media-obsessed life.

I could totally see him having to do a PSA about this....

You really shouldn't drink, drive, watch porn and masturbate at the same time....you'll just end up in a....(ready?)....sticky situation!

    HA HA HA

Seriously, though....how embarassing for his family.

He is a big idiot and an embarrassment to the NBA. I can't believe that the NBA and Minnesota Timberwolves were able to keep this quiet for so long when it happened at the end of March.

I think here in NC it is illegal to have to watch tv's that are mounted up front, but it's not illegal for someone to mount them there. At least that is what I was told.....anyone know?

Ha! Since no one died - I'm allowed to laugh - right?

My kid and I were behind a fancy car (BMW maybe?) that had a DVD player screen on the visor of the passenger side. It was a convertable and porn was playing on the screen. The driver wasn't watching it - but certainly my child was. :-(

I think if I were in the circle of people this man knew, I'd start a wildfire rumor that it was gay porn he was watching, and an entire collection was found in the trunk. Just to further along his humiliation.

I am glad no one was killed.

Why how insensitve of you Glitch. This poor underpaid NBA player obviously has some kind of sex addiction that turned him into an obvious victim. Anyone with a heart can see that.
