At first I assumed it was the same mother over the course of years by the title and I thought "THIS is in the news that makes you smile?? The poor woman!" But then I read the article and this is way cool.

I had a relative that had 18 kids altogether - many multiple births - many years ago when everyone in my family were farmers and it was okay for her to stay home. She seemed like a wonderful old lady when I met her, and I've always been mind boggled thinking of how hard it would be to corrall that many kids at once.

Easier to corral them back then Glitch....you could give 'em a good stiff kick in the rear without DSS showing up to take 'em away and lock you up.:D

The little old lady, raised on a farm
Had 18 kids to sound the alarm.
"MOM" yelled here, and "LOOK AT ME" over there
There was no rest for her - she didn't dare!
Running about, being naughty and such,
She'd scold them, hug them, and love them so much.
Teaching the skills of housework and chores
To pick up the toys that were left outdoors,
The homework, the lunches, the bathtimes and all
From the eldest to smallest, from shortest to tall
She had to be organized, had to be good
Had to do something - I'm not sure I could.
This was a long time ago - and it's a fact,
They were more respectful and seldom talked back
But still I bow to her, and give her my awe
For upholding her version of the "MOM LAW"
