Nothing yet on the parents, just that the 14 year old will be tried as an adult.

[Bradley] Wright lost control of the Jeep after running a stop sign at the East Pembroke Avenue and Juniper Street intersection. About 10 minutes had passed from the time he and a 12-year-old friend had stolen the SUV from a nearby convenience store. Michelle Hart, 33, was pinned under the Jeep and died at the scene of a broken back and asphyxiation, according to court records.

Wright, 15, pleaded guilty in February to involuntary manslaughter. The teen, who was prosecuted as an adult, also pleaded guilty to grand larceny of an automobile and felony hit and run. On Monday, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison -- eight years for Hart's death and two years each on the other charges.

However, Wright is not headed for the penitentiary. Instead, the prison time was suspended and Wright was ordered to serve time in the serious offender program run by the state's Department of Juvenile Justice. He'll return to court in two years for a check on his progress.

A 14-year-old was shot dead in Hampton during the weekend, close to the place where he was involved in a joy ride that killed a woman in her home in 2006.

Police say Xavier Denzel Barringer-Blackney's life was cut short by two other teenagers early Saturday...

Residents of the apartment complex said Barringer-Blackney had recently been released from juvenile detention after the 2006 incident that happened when he was 12... He was committed to a juvenile detention center for grand larceny for an indeterminate period last year.
