WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio -- A raging fire destroyed a home and killed a 4-month-old girl, ripping a young family apart.

The fire broke out around 1 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Maplehill Drive in West Carrollton.

Investigators said the mother of the child burned her hands as she tried unstrap her daughter from a burning seat, but was unable to do so.

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio -- Authorities investigating a fatal fire in West Carrollton said the blaze has claimed another life.

Mikel Silverman, 4, who had been fighting for his life for two days, died around noon Saturday at Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati. His 4-month-old sister Kalee was killed in the fire on Thursday.


Silverman is in the Montgomery County Jail facing murder and arson charges. Children Services was supposed to meet with the family the day of the fire concerning a rape allegation against the children’s father.

Investigators said Heather Silverman is accused of setting the home on fire.

Doron Silverman was charged was charged with rape in connection with alleged sexual contact with his 4-year-old son, police said.

Authorities said they expect to file another charge of murder against Heather Silverman.

This piece of crap killed those babies so he wouldn't get in trouble for raping them, that's my take on it. They deserve to die....

This is perhaps the sickest crime I have ever heard of. 2 parents set their house on fire, willingly killing their children so that their chithead of a sperm donor won't have to go to jail and receive a taste of his own medicine from Big Jim in the next cell? Are you kidding me?!!!! What is with "the mother burning her hands trying to free her child"? Are we supposed to believe this so-called mother was trying to free her daughter from a seat of some kind that burst into flames so quickly that she didn't have time to get the baby out? Or is the mother claiming the child was buckled in there in preparation to be murdered and the mother had a change of heart and tried to rescue her at the last minute? Are these people on drugs? I can't even imagine. Put them in general pop.
 
I just went to the site. The mother looks like a hard-nosed lowlife. Very defiant looking!! Unfrigginbelievable
 
Silverman remained free long enough to attend the death of 4-year-old Mikel with the permission of Judge Nick Kuntz of Juvenile Court, Silverman's attorney, Frank Malocu, said.
"I think he was holding Mikel's hand when he died," Malocu said.

Malocu said he has received no evidence from West Carrollton police about the charge against Silverman although police have been investigating the allegations against the father since June 6 when Montgomery County Children Services opened a case on the complaint.

Police said in a sworn affidavit to a search warrant that Doron Silverman admitted engaging in sex acts with his son.

Call me mean or whatever, but I don't think he should have been allowed to hold the child's hand or go to the funeral. I think he is disgrace to humanity and should be ostracized...as well as strung up.

Not mean at all. I'm very much disturbed by the fact that everyone else who is incarcerated can't attend their children's funerals, etc. So - this guy who raped his son can hold his hand? That's just wrong. Someone who he trusted wouldn't hurt him should have been the one to hold his hand in his last few minutes on Earth.
 
I agree this is so horrible, they shouldn't have let either of them near him. I just don't understand people. Was she apart of molesting this boy also or just shut her eyes. What about the baby? Did they do the same things to her also? Maybe that is why she let her burn up in that house and helped the boy out.


I live real close and heard that she helped the boy out and he just fell in the yard...that poor sweet baby. I heard they had a court thing that day at 3 and the fire was a 1. I would love to get my hands on these people, but it wouldn't be a pretty site. Sickos

Police say woman admitted she set fatal fire

MIAMISBURG — Heather R. Silverman "admitted setting a fire at her residence" that killed her children and described how she placed rags soaked in gasoline around a candle in her bathroom, kicked over the candle and pulled the door shut, a West Carrollton detective said in an affidavit filed



"The fire got out of control and she opened the bathroom door to the sound of her son yelling which resulted in the fatality and (critical) injuries to her children," Detective Robert Bell said in the affidavit.

Aunt laments kids' deaths

Mikel Silverman's grandparents and aunt would empty snacks from bags and replace them with fresh vegetables, hoping the 4-year-old would reach in the sack by habit and not notice the difference.


"He was skinny and malnourished," Mikel's aunt, Batya Silverman of Indianapolis, said Sunday. "He ate Chuck E. Cheese pizza that his dad brought home from work."

Ok so he worked at chuck e cheese...um I think they better start checking who they are hiring


After Mikel told Batya about being molested, the family met and confronted Doron. "He said, 'Maybe I did do it. I don't remember these things,' " Batya recalled him saying.

If I knew or even suspected that one of my own (family) was being abused, I'd grab 'em up and run or hide...or whatever. Until I was absolutely sure that child was removed from harm, I would not give that child up - or at least I'd raise enough h--- that everyone would sit up and pay attention. I can NOT see allowing a child to stay with those who obviously hate children!

I am sick and tired of those no-good - (cuss word omitted) - taking their bloody problems out on children or anything that is helpless. I don't care if they ever get help - they canNOT be rehabilitated....Wait - I mean, I just don't want to waste anymore time or money on them. Dig a hole and put 'em in it...

I don't want to put them in :behindbar - that's a waste of valuable space.

So sad :( There's another thread on this.....I think the 4 year old is in critical condition. Hopefully he hasn't died too :(
