FL - Leo Wood, 90, Clearwater, 15 Aug 2006
CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Police are trying to identify a body found Tuesday on the roof of a seven-story retirement facility.
Police are treating the rooftop as a crime scene. Police would not say how the person on the roof died or how long the body had been there.
The St. Petersburg Times reported Tuesday the body was found one block from a nursing home from which a 90-year-old Alzheimer's patient disappeared two weeks ago. But police would not confirm any connection between the two cases.
Leo Wood, 90, a Canadian World War II veteran, has not been seen since 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 15. His family said he is in poor health and could not have walked far. He was wearing an ankle monitor that was supposed to beep loudly if he left the nursing home.

I hope the ankle bracelets that they plan to put on registered sex offenders work better then the bracelet that was on this poor old man! What a shame that the bracelet didn't go off when the man left. Devices aren't much good if they don't work. Kind of like most of the video cameras on the outside of buildings.
