PATASKALA, Ohio --The son of conservative religious activist Dave Daubenmire will not teach at Licking Heights High School following his arrest last week on a child pornography-related charge.

The Licking Heights school board this morning accepted the resignation of Zachary Daubenmire from a $30,000-a-year position as a special education teacher, said board President George Pendexter.

The younger Daubenmire would have started the job Aug. 23. He never taught in the school, Pendexter said. Daubenmire also was dismissed from a job in Heath schools as a volunteer football coach.

Licking County sheriff's deputies arrested Daubenmire Aug. 22 on a charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor. He is accused of downloading child pornography onto a computer at the family's Thornville-area home where he lives with his parents.
