I would love to read that she got a wild hair and ran away with a boyfriend!
Anything but what we will probably hear. They haven't even mentioned if she has kids or not. I guess we really don't know that much about her.

The only signs of life were a pot, still warm after boiling on the stove, and her Dodge Ram truck parked in the gravel driveway. By 9 a.m. Aug. 26, police were called.
Still thinking of Stephanie and wishing there was some news about her.

I know Stephanie has a daughter, Lorie, but I am really interested in:

    - was she was married (if so, how many times and to who)

    - maiden name (if not Stewart)

    - where she was born and raised

    - if she has any native ancestry (as I have sleuthed on a Stewart of native ancestry who is almost identical in appearance to Stephanie).

Bumping for this lovely lady once again.

Where'd you go Stephanie? Wish we could find you and find out who is responsible for whatever has happened to you.

    rsbm...

    also snipped...

The woman, originally from Canmore, Alta., had worked at the same location each summer for 13 years.
That's a lot of dedication and devotion Stephanie!!! What happened to you up there at your post...???

Is the 20K reward put up by the province and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees still being offered...??? Sadly almost all the links no longer work...???

Just thinking about all the time you gave of yourself -- all alone up there --- in the still silence keepin your watchful eyes on our national park and forest...Undoubtedly you were a brave lady...!!!

Surely her union & those Stephanie represented haven't forgotten about her...???

Someone out there knows exactly what happened...people don't just vanish into thin air.

    Where are you Ms. Stewart...???

Where is Alberta forest fire spotter Stephanie Stewart?

Mark Coker climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with Stephanie, her daughter Lorie, and son-in-law, the year before the fire tower worker went missing. Stephanie, who was 69 at the time, was an ďinspiration,Ē to the group, he said. Climbing the mountain had been a life-long dream for her, he said.

"Mt. Kilimanjaro is a tough hike up to 19,340 feet. Thereís not much oxygen up there, and simply taking a couple steps can wind you. Stephanie made it up to the top at age 69. She was an inspiration to all of us. Always a smile on her face at the end of the day. Herís was a determined spirit."

snipped...For 18 years, she spent each summer working as a fire spotter. The last 13 years of her career placed her every April through September at the Athabasca watch tower...

...Some fire spotters have dogs or spouses with them for the season, but for most, itís a solitary life by choice.

Almost 7 years now, and we know nothing more than the day Stephanie disappeared.

I wonder how the silence is helping LE find who is responsible for her disappearance.

UPDATE - Found Remains Myster Continues

    http://www.inews880.com/news/edmonto...spx?ID=1948333
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

We are all one poor choice from being a subject on this forum. Think twice.

Your link doesn't work anymore mikkismom, but think this might be related to your post:

    from:

RCMP west of Edmonton said remains found in a remote area near Brule are human.

On Wednesday, Hinton RCMP said Edmontonís Medical Examiner had confirmed the human remains appeared to belong to an adult male.

At this time, RCMP donít suspect foul play.

However, investigators are still working with experts to determine the age, identity and manner of death in this case.

I really hoped they had found her. I haven't heard anything about Stephanie in so long. I wonder if they will ever find her out there.

Found this 2013 article on Stephanie, but nothing new about her disappearance ... mainly talking about safety measures that have been put in place for fire spotters:

With all this time having passed, you'd think LE would release a bit more info in hopes of finding a perp.

EDMONTON – It’s been a decade since 70-year-old Stephanie Stewart vanished while working alone at a wildfire lookout in dense mountain forest in northwestern Alberta

Stephanie Stewart is shown in an undated handout photo. THE CANADIAN PRESS/HO-RCMP
“Stephanie — I give her this legacy — it’s a terrible thing that happened, but as a consequence there was some very positive measures taken.”
Friend Robin Slater says Stewart, who was from Canmore, Alta., was a phenomenal woman who cycled solo across Canada and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. But her perfect place was the lookout, where she tended a huge garden, embroidered, painted and read stacks of books.
Former government forestry worker Bob Young remembers Stewart as a kind and gentle soul, who welcomed the many visitors who came to her lookout.
Young retired a few years before Stewart vanished, but before that had stopped often to see her as he sketched maps and took photos of all the province’s lookout areas.
He hopes reminding the public of her case will trigger someone’s memory and finally solve the mystery.
“There’s someone out there who knows.”

Probably this guy has been in the States too long to be involved in this case, but he came to mind immediately, just a thought and speculation, imo.
