The Bell County Sheriff's Office is investigating a "questionable" death after finding human skeletal remains on private property on Monday afternoon, officials said.

The remains, found by a landowner in southwestern Bell County, have been sent to the Southwest Forensic Institute in Dallas for an autopsy, Sheriff Dan Smith said in a media release.

Officials from Fort Hood are also involved in the investigation because a set of military identification tags was recovered along with the remains, Smith said. The tags list the name of a soldier who has been missing since 2001, he said.

The sheriff's office will not release the name on the tags until the remains have been positively identified and next of kin are notified, Smith said.

You can try this site......I linked it but it will start you on letter C.....You can do any letter you want.
If the link doesn't work it is http://www.txdps.state.tx.us
that you would try.
Unfortunately there is many missing in Texas......and you'd have to click on all
of the pictures to see if a military person comes up. It is a good site and it gives the years. So only click on the right timeframe ie:2002
HOPE this helps.......
