It has been a year since police found the body of North Mecklenburg High School student Gregory Goodson, 16.

Goodson had a lot of friends at North Meck. Some of them still wear a badge or t-shirt in his memory. His mother hopes this tragic anniversary will be followed by an arrest.

"He was going to go on to graduate high school and then go on to college and then ultimately graduate from there. Every mother wants to see that," said Kyle Goodson, Gregory’s mother.

This is an anniversary that Kyle Goodson wishes she could take away. Gregory Goodson had a promising future, his death left nothing but questions.

A Charlotte mom is about to mark 10 years since her 16-year-old son was shot and killed, and police have never been able to solve case...

The teen's body was found in a remote location off of Simpson Road and detectives say the remoteness of the location has helped them narrow down their field of suspects to just two. Despite the fact that it's been almost a decade, detectives work the mystery every day. It's a top priority for CMPD's cold case unit.

"This was a murder that someone had thought about doing," Price said.

Ten years ago, Kyle Goodson never thought she would still be talking about her son’s unsolved murder case.

“I’ve grown a lot. I’ve learned how to accept it, but I’m still devastated,” said Goodson.
