Amber Alert Issued for 9 Month Old Kentucky Boy

The state of Kentucky issued the Amber Alert after a social worker was found deceased at the home of the child's non-custodial mother. The mother is suspected of taking the child and the social workers vehicle.


Kentucky State Police Headquarters is looking for SAIGE TERRELL.
The event occured at CLAY STREET, HENDERSON KY on Monday, October 16th at 9:00AM.
SOCIAL WORKER FOUND DECEASED AT HOME OF CHILD'S NON CUSTODIAL MOTHER WHO IS SUSPECTED OF TAKING CHILD AND SOCIAL WORKERS VEHICLE - - SUSPECT HAS POSSIBLE FAMILY IN EVANSVILLE, AND FORT WAYNE, INDIANA


Victim 1, SAIGE TERRELL is described as being a 9 month old CAUCASIAN male, BROWN hair, BROWN eyes, 2'3". 19lbs DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED, SCRATCH ON RIGHT FACE, RUG BURN ON BACK OF NECK Wearing: UNKNOWN


Suspect 1, RENEE TERRELL. is described as being a 33 year old female, CAUCASION with BROWN hair, and BROWN eyes, Weighing (Aprox): 240lbs.
WEARS GLASSES


Vehicle 1, WHITE 2000 DAEWOO NUBIA 4 DOOR KENTUCKY license plate. Plate number 675DRV. Vehicle description: STATION WAGON

Terrell, a 10 month old, white male, with brown hair , brown eyes, standing 2 foot 3 inches tall and weighing 19 pounds. Saige has a scratch on the right side of his face and a rug burn on the back of his neck. He is described as being developmentally disabled . Saige R. Terell was last seen at 9:00 am October 16th at Clay Street, Henderson, Kentucky, and is believed to be in extreme danger. Henderson Police Department in Henderson, Kentucky says Saige R. Terell was likely abducted by Renne Terrell,the non custodial mother of the child and Christopher Wayne Luttrell. Renne is a white female 33 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall, 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and wears glasses. Christopher Luttrell is a white male, 21 years of age with light brown hair and blue eyes. Luttrell stands 6' 2" tall and weighs 150 pounds with tattoos on both of his arms. The abductors are believed to be driving a white 2000 Daewoo Nubia 4-Door Station Wagon with Kentucky license plate number 675 DRV. The child was taken during a supervised visit with a social worker. The social worker was found deceased at the home of the child’s non-custodial mother, Renee Terrell. Terrell is believed to have taken the infant and the social worker’s vehicle. Renee Terrell could possibly be enroute to Evansville, IN or Fort Wayne, IN where she has family. If you have any information on Saige R. The baby has a RUG BURN on the back of his neck???? There's only one way that can happen...and it surely isn't accidentally! :furious:

Why do I know the name Christopher Luttrell??? I mean, not personally---but it seems to me I have heard that name through the media before....hmmm. Maybe not....it DOES sound familiar though.

And, if these two creeps were intent on taking the baby, why in the world did they have to kill the social worker? I know I'm jumping the gun a little bit, because the news reports is only listing her as being "deceased", but I'm fairly certain it isn't due to natural causes! I mean, it's bad enough to take the baby, but there's just no reason at all to kill the innocent social worker who is just doing her job.

I just head this on the today show. How sad, a woman was only doing her job and was killed. this baby is in danger i am sure. They will be found though . Ok i am just assuming here but could his developmental delays be from drug use while she was pregnant or neglect? i mean, why was he taken in the 1st place?

maybe its just me... but I have read this post three times and it appears to say that the baby is 10 months old, but is 2 foot 3 inches??? Is it just me, or does anyone else find that strange?

The wording is weird, but also 17" is really small. My kids were a few inches longer at birth. Prayers they find him soon!

2 ft 3 inches is actually is 27"--so I think that's about normal for a child his age.

The suspect also has family in Louisville and in New York. So keep your eyes open!

henderson ky is about 25 min from where i was born and raised. it has two major interstates that run directly through it. they could be high tailing it to anywhere. prayers for this baby!

HENDERSON, Ky. - A social worker who had taken a 10-month-old boy to his mother's house for a visit was found slain, and the baby was apparently abducted, authorities said.

Police found the body of Boni Frederick, 67, at the house on Monday after she failed to return to work. Her car was missing. Investigators would not say how she was killed.

Police searched on Tuesday for the missing boy, who was believed to be with his mother, Renee Terrell, 33, and her boyfriend.

The child had been taken from his mother when he was 13 days old because of neglect, police said.

"It's a dangerous job anytime you're taking someone's child away from their parents," Sgt. Dwight Duncan said. "You know how protective parents can be."

The mother's white-paneled, single-story house was roped off by police tape, and a squad car was parked in front.

Neighbor Mindy Gray, 22, described the mother as "goofy, like a little kid."

"But every time I talked to her, she was sweet as can be," she said.

Gov. Ernie Fletcher asked flags to be flown at half-staff on state buildings in memory of Frederick, who worked for the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The last time a social worker was killed on the job in Kentucky was in 1987.

Advocates said the slaying emphasizes the danger of social work.

"It's like a state trooper stopping somebody for speeding," said Kathleen Hoffman, deputy director of the Association of Social Work Boards. "Ninety-nine percent of the time it's fine. But there's always that chance that somebody has a gun."

Greta just did a piece on this. As soon as the transcripts are available, I'll post them. They had the boyfriend's mother on a telephonic interview. She really couldn't shed too much light on the situation, IMO. However, what was strange was when GVS asked her if her son would hurt the baby, she quickly answered no but when asked if her son would hurt the social worker, she hesitated, stopped, started then said it would be unusual unless the girlfriend asked him to because it was a strange relationship. Pretty sad situation all around. IMO and MOO.

This sums up everything that is wrong with our child protection systems. A baby is taken from the parents for neglect, and a government employee DRIVES the child to the parents' home for visits?

This poor woman deserved to retire in peace and not die as she did!

Our social workers have a sheriff deputy who escorts them in situations like this. We have a full time deputy assigned to our agency.

The AP is reporting that the Henderson police say the social worker was 67-year-old Boni Frederick of Morganfield who worked for the state Cabinet for
Health and Family Services.
