Canada - Arrest Made After Toddler Molested Live Online

Police Rescue Child Two Hours After Assault

TORONTO -- A man who was sexually abusing a young girl in his home was arrested after he transmitted images of the assault via the Internet to an undercover detective, police said Thursday.

The girl, a preschooler, was rescued two hours later in what Toronto police's child exploitation unit said was its first case of observing a live assault.

"My first reaction was that I wanted to reach through the monitor and grab the child," said Detective Paul Krawczyk, the undercover officer who witnessed the alleged assault Sunday.

He alerted police in St. Thomas, a city in southwestern Ontario where police believed the man lived, and they were able to track him down in two hours.

"To see this child and look that child in the eyes and realize that the child was live somewhere, being abused, we had to save the child right then," Krawczyk said at a news conference. "The minute we realized what was happening, we went as fast as we could."

Just like I hope there's a special place in hell for monsters who hurt children, I hope there's a special place in heaven for people like this detective who work to save them.

How they can do the work they do, see the images they see, and stay sane is something I don't understand, but I'm thankful for them.

I'm so happy they found this little girl. I'm remembering the Disney case and it took quite a while to find that girl. WHO do these guys think they are molesting little girls. Agreed, he needs to fry, but I think placing him in gen pop at prison would give him his just rewards. It needs to be broadcast over the internet what happens to him. Sounds cruel, but yes I'd watch it.

And his next reaction was to effectively reach through the monitor and grab the child! Way to go!

I think this is from the same case - I don't like opening videos, so I'm not watching it, but on CNN.com, there's a headline, "Cop 'nearly threw up' watching live child abuse" - just like any of us would. It's a tough job, and she's glad he was doing it.

This man worked for a "public" service that in part caters to "young children". Apparently the man "seemed" really nice, according to co-workers.

Also the wife "used to come by, with the "little ones"

Before the "press" edited some details, it was reported that the child was his daughter, as in "this child is staying with family members".

You know, even as glad as I am to hear stories like this where law inforcement is able to rescue a child, I have to wonder if it's such a good idea for it to be such a prominent news story. It seems like it would drive the crime even further underground and harder to track, if that makes sense.

Arrow Info for On-Line Abuse Case

Apparently, the creep that abused his own child on-line is a father of two, and a photographer in the local St. Thomas, Ontario area. Here is a URL that provides more info on the creep that had the brazen, arrogant, and sickening resolve to abuse his own child on-line. I just don't get how someone can be so incredibly selfish and self-centered that he/she would take advantage of someone as innocent and trusting as their own child. After reviewing the link I am posting here, I did some additional investigating, and I have a pretty good idea of who it is. I can't post the name because I could be wrong, and I would hate to think I would accuse a father of two beautiful little girls of something as heinous as this crime.

I feel it is a "great" idea to do as much PR to "advertise" this, because the "creeps" feel that they can hide behind the net.

This way, they know that the cops are out there, that the person they could be speaking to is a cop, that they may be "less" bold, knowing that this could happen.

In others words, on notice, that they cannot hide behind the net and "feel" safe it what they do.

I wonder if the Mom knew or "had some" idea that her husband was like this, some of these guys "really" keep this well hidden, and the child is too afraid to go against Dad, especially when her "loyalities" are conflicted and she is "such a young age".

After reading of these cases alot lately from links from forums, it seems that these freaks have to produce their own videos and pics in order to receive more images from these child porn internet communities. By producing their own, they receive even more graphic and awful images of even younger children. I imagine that the cop was posing as one of them and knew what type of internet community it was for awhile. I think it is really a shame that it went that far, that the girl was actually molested live when the freak might have already been arrested just for being in this type thing. It seems these sickos have so many rights that they are fearless and they need to be arrested just for viewing or downloading child porn. Better yet, child porn needs to be obliterated somehow from the internet. One expert said that child porn in the U.S. was pretty much eradicated from this country until the inernet came along. Of course, the child may have already been molested, but maybe not. If the dad had already been in jail, at least this live molestation wouldn't have happened this time.

Maybe, if not for the internet, the child would have been molested, and no one would have known - kinda ironic. I'm not sure how to think of it - that borderline types are getting into pedophelia and learning how to hide it, from the porn on the internet and garbage like NAMBLA - or that they've always existed, always abused their own kids, and now we have a way to evesdrop on them as they talk amongst themselves, and catch them.
