SC - Six held hostage at pharmacy

    Six held hostage at pharmacy

Six people were taken hostage at a pharmacy Monday and one shot was fired, a state spokesman said. No injuries were reported.

The hostage taking occurred at the Family Discount Pharmacy in Stollings, about 60 miles southwest of Charleston, said Joe Thornton, spokesman with the state Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. A section of state Route 10 near the store was closed, Thornton said.

State Police and Logan County sheriff's deputies were at the scene, he said.

    Thornton had no further information.
