Missing Person - Gregory CYR

Gregory Cyr was last seen or in contact with family on October 26, 2003. He left his girlfriend’s residence in the downtown area of Vancouver to meet a man for coffee. He called her a few times to say he would be later than expected. The last call was made approximately at 1:00 p.m.





Cyr has not been heard from since that time and this is very unusual for him. He has a young child that he is very close to. The family of Gregory Cyr are desperately trying to contact him, as his father recently passed away and his mother is ill.



Gregory is 43 years old, white, 6’2”, 185 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair, and he has a 4" very noticeable scar on his left cheek. He was last seen wearing a light coloured baseball cap, a sweater and jeans.



FAMILY PLEA






“Greg’s family is praying for information on his whereabouts. His father passed away suddenly in March. Greg’s young son asks where he is constantly. Greg is deeply loved by his grieving mother, his brothers and sister, nephews and nieces, and his large extended family. If anyone has any information that would help us to contact him, we would be deeply grateful. Greg, if you hear our pleas, just let us know you are safe. It is so painful for all of us, not hearing from you for so long.”

A judge found that her ex-husband is probably not dead...

...police have told her Cyr was mixed up with some "very bad" people and "haven't told me whether it's Hells Angels, or whether it's the Russian Mafia or East Indian gangs."

...Cyr was a "sophisticated businessman."

"It is likely that he earned money through the illegal drug trade and had sizable hidden assets," said the judge. "He may have had the financial ability to disappear independently of the property in Victoria."

The network reported that Cyr disappeared after going to meet who police said were "underworld connections." His ex-wife, Miriam Byrne, now wants police to reopen an investigation into his disappearance. The inference being that, perhaps the fact that he had money stashed offshore sheds new light on his disappearance.

I thought the recent developments were very interesting when I read that article yesterday. Lots of shady characters out there, people need to stop associating with so called underworld figures. There are people and groups who can do away with you and make sure your body is never recovered, easily--professional assassins, this stuff is crazy scary.
