Has anyone read the article yet? Care to report your thoughts?

My youngest got sick on the way to school today so I haven't been to the store yet for my copy.

Okay. I bought PEOPLE today because this story was the cover story.

Here's what I got out of it that was new to me (and I am not up on every detail of the case.)

Jason hasn't cooperated. (But I knew that.)

"...police say they have learned the Youngs were having financial difficulties. A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that Michelle --- who had planned to cut back on her hours as a sr. fin'l specialist for a power co.....was covered by a $1 million insurance policy that her husband took out three months before her murder and that made him the beneficiary."

Well, I can't say I am surprised but this was news to me. I predicted: Back when that I was waiting for the GF and the insurance info to surface. Bingo!!

Two drops of blood on the Youngs' 2004 Ford Explorer.

Lots of lovely things said about Michelle. Also about Jason. So reminds me of Laci and Scott.

Mentions JY's alibi, the trip to the meeting the next day. "police won't say whether such a meeting ever occurred."

The fax JY asked Meredith to fetch was a receipt for a purse JY planned to give Michelle as a gift.

Who has a receipt faxed to them???? No mention of whether the fax was found.

Their dog, Mister Garrison, was "acting frantically" according to Michelle.

Big dog. How come he didn't bark/attack the killer, hmmmmm?

At the funeral MY's famliy sat at the oppo end of the front row from JY and family. And Michelle Money was at the funeral.

that's it.

I guess if you have really amazing eyesight you can read it here: http://www.wral.com/news/local/image_gallery/1133597/

I read some of it ... only half of the first page so far. I'm going to strain my eyes some more a little later. I got up to the Twinkle Twinkle bedtime routine.

Cassidy was looking for bandaids for Michelle, she told Meredith, so she probably told Meredith quite a bit about what happened. Meredith, being trained in psychology, would be ideal for interviewing Cassidy.

this is what i got out of it also....i figured the Young's were having financial difficulties...i didn't know though, that JY got the million $ life insurance on MY 3 months prior to her death......

eta.....MM & JY corresponded via email & phone, almost daily, for 3 months prior to Michelle's death ......

If Jason took out a million dollar insurance policy on Michelle just as he changed jobs 3 months earlier, I think he's got a big problem.

Thanks for the update.

Having the receipt faxed to his home email is a bit silly since he could have had it faxed to his work email, sent in the mail or he simply could have asked for it to be included with the gift. Furthermore, he could have asked for it to be faxed at a more convenient time.

The dog could have been put in the basement during the attack and let out as the perp was leaving the house - more likely to happen if the dog knew the attacker.

That sounds a little more serious than Michelle Money's husband's statement that they all three were close friends. I don't think I would want my spouse talking to someone of the opposite sex via phone and email every day for 3 months ... especially not while pregnant. Looking at the photos it sure seems like Michelle took after her dad in looks.

Wasn't that so precious, that little girlie had a head on her shoulders, trying to help her mommy. Bandaids for her boo-boos. No wonder Sheriff Harrison felt so strongly about Cassidy.

It really is a glimpse into the caring, nurturing relationship between Cassidy and Michelle. It also tells us how little a young child understands of the world. If I recall correctly, young children think their parents make the world go around and they simply don't understand that anything bad could happen to a parent ... the person that is the centre of their universe.

I liked this excerpt:

As for Young's whereabouts the night of Nov. 2, a hotel receipt and telephone records show that he was "at certain places at certain times," says Richard Johnson, adding that Young "has not been ruled out as a suspect."

thanks l/f......same stuff different day EH?

Went to the store in my small town. All they had was the January 15 issue. Please tell me the date of the one with the MY case.

Well I'm extremely disappointed! I thought there might be more snippets of info from her friends/family...but I think they are keeping it all quiet because they know LE is on the right track.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I went to buy some Pedialyte and of course, searched for the People Mag. They had two different issues and neither one was the MY issue!!! Now maybe I'm glad I didn't waste my money.

Any interesting pictures that we haven't seen? Any news about Cassidy's relationship with the Fishers and whether they've seen her lately or not?

TIA!:blowkiss:

Taximom, kids sick? I remember having to buy that to replace electrolyes when my kids got sick and vomited. Must be flu. Hope they're better.

Hi BarnGoddess. Yes, the flu. I started last Sunday. Then one child became sick each night till last night. Then my youngest threw up again this morning after being well since Tues morning. She's better now.

My husband got the flu shot a month ago and he's been sick the longest. :silenced:

If I use any more Lysol or Clorox my house is going to disappear!

Thanks for asking, and stay well!

Oh bruther.....poor you! My kids used to hate pedialyte - even the flavored stuff. I've since heard that gatorade works the same.

eta Apparently in the article, it says that the Fisher family has not seen Cassidy since the funeral. We all know she wasn't at the funeral so I'm assuming they got to see her afterwards? I don't know about that though, they apparently sat on opposite sides at the funeral.

I normally use gatorade because the kids don't like the Pedialyte AND the cost is ridiculous. They only had Pedialyte so I got the plain and mixed in a little gatorade powder. It's still more sugar than I'd like, but what are you going to do?!

Your poor kids :(

I used to use ginger beer for my kids. Ginger is great for helping with the nausea when sick and I would use a powdered form of glucose for their energy level. If you can find powdered Glucolytes (body builders use it), you can mix some of that in the ginger beer or in a honey and water drink.

We are totally O/T, but since there's no news....
:D
I used to have a recipe for homemade pedialyte but I've lost it. Is ginger beer the same as ginger ale? My mom praises that for tummy aches, but it always gives me indigestion! Go figure.

OOoops, lol I thought we were in the OT thread.

Same as ginger ale except not as gassy.....lmao if you get indigestion from it then you need to open the bottle and allow it to go flat :)

Sucking on ginger lollies can also relieve nausea and tend to be made using glucose instead of sugar :)

Here's a page with a recipe for home made Pedialyte :)

http://www.geocities.com/cptpungent/kid.html

I just googled "homemade pedialyte" and there's heaps.

Thanks, Sami! I hope I don't need that page for quite a while! I'll bookmark it for future reference. :blowkiss:
