hmmm, i think this article is saying that the above abduction DID happen and someone was arrested, although i haven't found anything else about it. another one, though....
DARBY TOWNSHIP -- Police Friday were tracking a number of leads involving the apparent attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl.
The incident Thursday morning left the girl upset but not physically injured.
http:// "We do consider it credible," Police Chief Robert Thompson said of the allegation, which was reported to police by the girlís grandmother, about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Thompson said they are looking at a possible connection to a similar case that occurred Tuesday in Darby Borough, which led to an arrest this week.
"We havenít ruled anything out," Thompson said.
According to Thompson, the girl told police she was waiting for a school bus at the intersection of Bartram and Cooke avenues when she noticed a black van or black sport utility vehicle ride by a couple times.
"The man actually got out of the car and waved her to come over toward him," Thompson said.
The girl, a middle school student, ran back to her home and told her relative.
"She was quite afraid," Thompson said of the girl.
Because the incident occurred near the Darby Township Elementary School, Principal Mary C. Dunwoody said she sent an informational letter home to parents as a "proactive" measure. The victim was not a student at the elementary school

should have posted this in crimes in the news...someone want to move it?
DARBY BOROUGH -- A Clifton Heights man was arrested on attempting kidnapping charges after allegedly trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car Tuesday. Police say that 38-year-old John Marchetti, who owns Happy Jackís Bar in Prospect Park and is a licensed real estate salesman, is also a serial peeping Tom and has been spotted lurking about in several nearby communities.
Marchetti, who is now free on bail, was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a visibly upset schoolgirl ran up to Folcroft Officer Dan White and reported that a man in a black SUV had offered her money to get into his vehicle, according to police Chief Robert Smythe.
http:// White, who was on foot on traffic detail, was able to stop the black SUV, which was being driven by Marchetti. Darby officers arrived on the scene and asked Marchetti, who appeared extremely nervous, to step out of his vehicle, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Marchettiís speech was slurred and he reeked of alcohol, the affidavit states. A half-empty 12-ounce bottle of Budweiser was on the front floor of the SUV and a video camera, "open and ready to be used for filming" was also found in the back of the SUV, according to the affidavit. The victim positively identified Marchetti as the man who tried to lure her into his truck.
Marchetti was taken into custody. He allegedly refused to submit to blood alcohol testing. Police placed $1,282 cash found on Marchetti into evidence.
Smythe said Marchetti has a criminal past, including a seven-year stint in a New Jersey jail for narcotics offenses. Several months ago, he was arrested in Clifton Heights for loitering and prowling at an apartment house and exposing himself, the chief said.
Darby Borough police contacted area police departments about the incident and asked if they had contact with Marchetti.
Springfield detectives said they had received numerous complaints about Marchetti, all involving children, the affidavit states. Marchetti had allegedly been seen watching and following children near Holy Cross Elementary School. Police in Haverford, Newtown, Darby Township have also had contact with Marchetti, Smythe said.
In most of those cases, according to Smythe, police were called about a suspicious person roaming about a neighborhood. When stopped by police, Marchetti would produce a stack of Eagles or Penn State football schedules and, noting that he is a real estate salesman, would say he was in the neighborhood handing out the schedules and doing business.
A search warrant was executed at his home in the 100 block of Academy Road, Clifton Heights. Investigators seized about 100 pornographic videos and two computers which were sent to be analyzed, Smythe said. He also said Marchetti had videos of partially clothed women who appeared unaware they were being filmed.
"He was peeping in the windows and taking videos," Smythe said. "Heís hanging around, heís taking pictures, heís trying to lure a young boy, trying to lure a young girl, whatís next? Smythe said. "Whatís the next thing heís going to advance to?"
Police are asking anyone who believes Marchetti may have followed them or their children to call Darby Borough police at (610) 586-1100.
Marchetti was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Ed Christie on charges of criminal attempt kidnapping; attempt to lure a child into a vehicle; luring a child into a vehicle; possessing instruments of crime; stalking; simple assault; reckless endangerment; driving under the influence and restriction on alcoholic beverages.
He was transported to Delaware County prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. Marchetti posted bail Thursday and was released. He faces a preliminary hearing in Darby District Court.
