An unidentified woman's remains were found in Marion county Ohio on Saturday (3-10-07).

These remains belong to a white woman aged 18-22 years old. She is 5' 6'' tall with brown hair.

The cause of death is unknown but her remains have been lying in the area for at least one year.

Authorities have ruled out Patti Adkins who has been missing since 2001.

They can sometimes be off with the height by 2".

Ashley's family is 'hoping' that this is Ashley and that they can obtain closure. We are praying for speedy results.

Here's one possibility except she is listed as 5' 4'' - two inches shorter than the reported height of the remains found.

Glad to hear that they are considering Ashley for this. She is an obvious choice.

Since Marion is near the center of Ohio it seems likely that the victim is from Ohio. I searched all missing women from Ohio in the Charley Project database and Ashley is by far the best match of all of the women who went missing in the past few years.

Hi everyone,

Maybe you can help me out with this Jane Doe who has been troubling me for a few months. She is so young, it makes me feel sick to think that no one has been able to call her their daughter or sister.

I wonder if she is a possible match to this young woman:

Carla Elizabeth Losey
  • Missing Since: December 31, 2002 from Columbus, Ohio
  • Classification: Endangered Missing
  • Date Of Birth: May 16, 1982
  • Age: 20
  • Height: 5'5"-5'6"
  • Weight: 135-140 lbs.
  • Hair Color: Brown
  • Eye Color: Brown
  • Race: White
  • Gender: Female
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Yugoslavian, but looks
Hispanic. Pierced tongue, a mole above the right side of mouth,
a three-inch scar across forehead, and a scar on left hand.
  • Clothing: Black leather jacket.
  • AKA: Her nicknames are Mia, Cream and Isyss.
  • NCIC Number: M-652977610
  • Case Number: 3874-03

I actually viewed Carla Losey's profile first and then after coming across Marion County Jane Doe wondered if the two might be a match. Here is why I wondered.

Marion County Jane Doe:
Distinguishing Characteristics: The decedent is believed to be White, but the possibility that she was of Hispanic or Asian descent has not been ruled out.
Carla Elizabeth Losey:
Distinguishing Characteristics: Yugoslavian, but looks Hispanic.

Additionally, the other vitals all seem to match up inasmuch as that's possible for the state of Marion County Jane Doe's remains.

This is my first post here so I would appreciate as much feedback as possible from you all who have been doing this much longer. Thank you all.

the prominent nose on both the model and the kinda sideways view looks like a match!

Hi Zinc
I'm pretty new to comparisons myself, but Ms. Losey's sister has a myspace page set up for. It can be accessed from her charley project page, perhaps her sister has other pictures or info that could be useful, she may even know if LE has ruled out your UF.

Thank you Snufamonbobball :) Yes, I looked at her sister's MySpace page. She hasn't logged in in a while, though, and I wanted to get feedback from folks here before contacting anyone.

Please, anyone who reads this thread, I would appreciate your opinion.

Zinc, the first 'friend' on carla losey's missing myspace page 'mandy' is her sister that set up the page. Last sign in date 8-24-09. You can try sending your message to that profile instead.

carla losey actually has 2 myspace pages:
http://www.myspace.com/carlalosey
http://www.myspace.com/294277892 <-- that one has a last sign in date of june though.

It appears that her mom also has a page: http://www.myspace.com/66636576

In my not very experienced opinion, carla's face is longer than the reconstruction, her eyes are more wide set.. but then again it is merely a reconstruction, and those can be way off.

LOL snuffy, you may be new, but you're awfully darned good at comparisons. Great job with helping Dawns' family find peace!
Kudos to you, too Zinc. I think it certainly merits looking into. I feel so sorry for the families who don't have closure.

i think this missing woman resembles the unidentified woman. and if i'm not mistaken her boyfriend's family is from Ohio...
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/murray_maura.html

I don't think it's real close. The UID has that very long space between nose and upper lip, which Murray doesn't. The nose looks wrong and the overall shape of the face doesn't match -- the UID's jaw is squarer and more prominent.

Though if her boyfriend had been following her and picked her up after the accident, that would explain why she was never found in the area of the accident.

Her boyfriend was stationed at and accounted for on a military base in Oklahoma when she disappeared from New Hampshire. I wasn't trying to imply that he or his family were involved, but that she did have a connection to Ohio. And actually, I googled mapped the location discovery site to where her boyfriend is from and it's about 30 minutes travel time. I know there has been some concern that Maura may have had a head injury or memory loss after her accident, so maybe she remembered being in that area of Ohio and went looking for something familiar. Just a theory...

I think the sketch looks alot like Maura aside from the obscene amount of space between the upper lip and the nose.

I don't necessarily disagree with your theory, but I'm missing something here. He's from Ohio? There's no part of Ohio that's within 30 minutes of any part of NH, let alone the northern part where Maura's accident happened. More like 10-12 hours of steady driving.

Space between nose and upper lip is a critical proportion -- even if the sketch is exaggerated, it still means the UID had more than usual space. Also Maura's lips don't seem full enough. Might still be worth submitting, however.

Here is her case info in the NAMUS system:
https://identifyus.org/cases/4725

The reconstruction is not included in the case report on Namus-I am very very curious about the proportions nose to mouth.

The complete dentals are listed in NAMUS -Maura Murray's dentals are listed as well. did she have unerupted wisdom teeth?
